Why do we love to eat and drink so many things that are bad for us?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

So many things we love and crave are bad for us?

Why isn’t it the other way around? Why don’t people binge on brussel sprouts and lettuce? Why doesn’t you mom tell you to stop eating so much broccoli? Or to quit eating so many blueberries?

Instead we love cheese, chocolate, alcohol, greasey food of all kinds, eggs, bread, all that stuff.

Why?

Is the reason why I’m easily addicted to things because my mother drank wine when she was pregnant?

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Not chugging it but she drank frequently.

I find myself yearning for wine even though a second ago, I spit it out, hating it. And had to fight off cravings for a month.

And when I start eating some type of food I really like, I can’t stop eating though my stomach’s bulging. But no, I’m not fat. Underweight, in fact.

Santa Barbara Motorcycle Accident Lawyer’s Top Ten Worst Things That Can Lead to a Motorcycle Accident

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

1. Not being especially nice to your lawyer.

2. Not spending enough time with the dog, the kids, your spouse or your mother.

3. Having bad thoughts about the car tailgating you.

4. Having a drunk driving next to you.

5. Not knowing one of your tires is bad.

6. Knowing one of your tires is bad and not having the money to replace it.

7. Not seeing that piece of furniture on the road ahead.

8. Not seeing the pothole that’s as big as Texas.

9. Not having noticed a road sign that says the road is ending 100 yards ahead.

10. Not remembering where you are or where you’re going and having a panic attack.

Here are ten useful tips of advice from a motorcycle accident lawyer to follow if you have been in an accident. You can also learn more about how to handle a motorcycle accident in Santa Barbara, or any city, by calling the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson at any of the numbers which can be found on our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learning how we can assist you.

Obviously, if you have had an accident, and you are reading all of this advice, it may have been a few hours since the accident. However, if you ever have another accident, or if it’s only been a few hours since you were hurt, here’s what you should do from the start.

First, take a look around and determine if you or anyone, are hurt. If so, taking steps like trying to prevent further injury or loss of blood are the most important thing you can do. Even if some other driver caused you to be injured, it’s just good manners to help the other driver if they are hurt. They may even be so thankful that they admit their fault to you. The worst thing you can do is get angry or start a fight.

Second, make sure everyone is safe from being injured further. If you are in the middle of traffic, and you are dizzy, sit down away from traffic. If your vehicle is a traffic hazard and you have accident warning devices like flares or triangles, put them out on the road to warn other drivers and get away from the car. Let the police an other emergency personnel investigate the scene with the vehicles in place and move them more safely at a later point.

Third, call the police. Accident reports are extremely helpful if the police will do such a report. Let the police know you are injured immediately. Answer the police questions honestly. But if you are dazed or confused, let them know you need medical treatment and answer only what you feel sure about. Remember, your statements can and will be used against you if you admit fault, and it will be too late and too fishy to later say you didn’t know what you were saying at the scene. Police know that your best recollection is immediately after an accident.

Fourth, get the other driver’s information including their names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, make and model of their vehicles, license plate numbers, and their insurance company name and policy number. If there are witnesses, get their names, addresses and telephone numbers as well. If the other driver makes any admissions of fault, write those down as well.

Fifth, if you have a camera on your cell phone or in the car and you aren’t too injured, take some photos of the vehicles and the scene. If you can’t do it right away, do it after you are released from the hospital.

Sixth, if you are hurt, obtain medical treatment. Don’t decline the ambulance or hospital examination to save your insurance company money or to be stoic. Take your valuables out of your car if you can and get checked out at the hospital. If you are not hurt, don’t get treatment you don’t need. However, remember, after an accident, you may feel a rush of adrenaline that causes you to only start feeling symptoms of pain a few hours later. If you have a health plan that requires you to obtain permission first, call them and find out where you are allowed to seek treatment.

Seventh, call a good motorcycle accident lawyer as soon as you have had your initial treatment, so the attorney can gather other important evidence and prevent the insurance company from taking advantage of you and obtaining such things as recorded statements that you feel fine, when many of your symptoms have yet to manifest themselves. A good motorcycle accident lawyer can save you from making a great deal of mistakes and can shoulder much of the hassle of knowing what to do about car repairs, car rentals, medical treatment, witness statements and the like. If you think you will save money by not having an attorney, think again. A good motorcycle accident lawyer can almost always obtain much higher settlements, obtain reductions of medical bills and insurance liens and prevent you from making costly mistakes. Also, most motorcycle accident attorneys advance costs of obtaining police reports, medical records and the like and are paid and reimbursed for these costs only out of any settlement.

Eight, you will need to report the accident to your insurance company, but since they will want to take a recorded statement from you, just like any other driver’s insurance company, it’s good advice to retain an attorney first. And if the other driver did not have insurance, remember that it is your own insurance company that will be your adversary. You will also need to report the accident to the Department of Motor Vehicles and your lawyer can give you the form for this.

Ninth, do not agree to settle your claim privately with the person at fault for the accident. This almost never works out to your advantage. Don’t agree not to call the police. Police reports that determine the fault for an accident are golden. Your agreement to not involve the police only affords an opportunity for the other driver to change his story and blame you when the police will no longer investigate the accident.

Tenth, don’t pay a traffic ticket without a fight if you weren’t at fault or agree to accept a small payment for your vehicle repairs without knowing that the amount will in fact cover the cost of all the repairs.

8 Things Your Mother Should Have Told You About Symptoms Of Bronchitis and Bronchitis

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

When searching for bronchitis and symptoms of bronchitis information online, I happened to find some tips – 8 of them, in fact.

I hope that you find them useful…as it’s taken our researchers some time to find them all!

Nevertheless, it’s worth the effort – especially where bronchitis is concerned, as there is a lot of great stuff out there on the Internet.

Tip #1

Since acute bronchitis involves increased mucus production triggered by infection or allergens, one of the goals is to clear secretions. The body naturally does this with the cough reflex. Another method is to use aromatic oils.

Tip #2

Bronchitis causes inflammation and sometimes viral or bacterial infection of the mucous membrane, bronchial tubes and other organs and tissues involved in the process of breathing. The respiratory system has many natural defenses (nostril hairs, cilia, mucus) against external irritants (airborne viruses, dust particles, chemicals, pollen). However, constant exposure to these external agents can sometimes enable airborne viruses to penetrate the natural barriers of the respiratory tract, causing inflammation and infection. When external irritants reach inside the lungs, there is a high risk of complication (pneumonia). When the bronchial tubes become inflamed and irritated, they produce a surplus of mucus which clogs the airways and prevents the normal airflow.

Tip #3

If you are a smoke or have any problems with your lungs, bronchitis can be a lot more trouble to you than you think. These people may have more than one attacks of bronchitis. Another health problem that increases the risk of bronchitis is malnutrition. This usually happens in small children or older people. Allergies are also a friend of acute bronchitis. Some children may also have enlarged tonsils of suffer from sinus infections may also have more bronchitis episodes.

Tip #4

Acute bronchitis is often associated with bacterial or viral infections. The disease is commonly acquired in the flu seasons and it generates symptoms such as: dry or low-productive cough, chills, low or moderate fever, sore throat, chest discomfort and pain, wheezing and difficulty breathing. With appropriate treatment, the symptoms of acute infectious bronchitis are quickly alleviated and the disease can be completely overcome within a couple of weeks.

Tip #5

It is highly recommended that you drink a lot of water, and stay away from fluids like coffee etc. Juice from fresh fruit is great. Drinking a lot of fluids will help thin your mucus but note water is the best fluid.It is often best to avoid cold drinks as it can constrict the air passageway.

Tip #6

Chronic bronchitis needs permanent and intense treatment and care for a quick recovery; if not properly treated symptoms reappear and might even worsen. Chronic bronchitis must immediately be treated with ant biotherapy. Chronic cases of bronchitis appear usually in patients with weaken immune systems and in chronic smokers.

Tip #7

When pregnant, you should avoid people who already have the disease. If you have already contracted the disease, immediate action should be taken to avoid the condition progressing to pneumonia. Medication should not be taken without a proper doctor’s prescriptions.

Tip #8

Acute bronchitis doesn’t last more than a few weeks. However, patients with acute bronchitis can sometimes experience an aggravation of their symptoms in time or they can develop chronic bronchitis. Chronic bronchitis is a form of bronchitis that generates less intense symptoms, but the illness can lead to serious complications in time. Unlike acute bronchitis, which can clear on itself in a short period of time, chronic bronchitis persists in time and needs ongoing medical treatment.

That’s it for the tips, I hope that you liked them.

Even though I have only shared 8 bronchitis and symptoms of bronchitis tips with you, feel free to share this article with anyone who you may feel will benefit.

101 Things You Need to Know About Herpes!

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Genital herpes is caused by two forms of the herpes simplex viruses: HSV-1 or HSV-2.

Most oral herpes is caused by HSV-1, and most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2.

Most people do not show signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection.

at least 45 million people ages 12 and older, or 20% of U.S. adolescents and adults, have had genital herpes.

Genital HSV-2 infection is more common in women (approximately one out of four women) than in men (almost one out of eight).

Both herpes Type 1 and 2 can be transmitted by contact with the sores that the herpes viruses cause, but also between outbreaks (sometimes called OBs) via “shedding” from skin that does not have a sore on it.

Herpes transmission frequently occurs from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore, and may not even know that he or she is infected with the virus.

Genital OBs of HSV-1 recur less frequently than genital outbreaks caused by HSV-2.

First symptoms of genital herpes, they can be quite intense. Subsequent OBs are more mild. Symptoms can include:

small area of redness, sometimes with raised bumps or fluid-filled blisters;

Itching, burning or tingling in the genital area;

Flu-like symptoms (headache, swollen glands, fever);

Painful urination and/or discharge.

Initial herpes outbreak usually occurs within two weeks after the virus is transmitted, and the sores usually heal within two to four weeks.

Sometimes, a person does not become aware of the infection until years after it is acquired.

Do not squeeze OB blisters because that may cause infection to spread.

Genital herpes infection can be more severe in people with immune systems depressed due to other causes.

Genital herpes can cause psychological distress in people who know they are infected, due particularly to the attached social stigma.

Any area in the groin can be affected by genital herpes.

Herpes is not the only infection that causes genital sores. Bacterial infections have also been known to cause sores that resemble herpes sores. So, it’s best to get tested.

Genital herpes can lead to potentially fatal infections in babies.

Genital herpes can sometimes be diagnosed by visual inspection of the outbreak, or by taking an actual sample from a sore.

The only sure way to avoid getting herpes and other STDs is abstinence, or a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with someone who is not infected.

If you inform your partner of your herpes, you can discuss it instead of making excuses as to why you don’t want to have sex.

Genital herpes caused by HSV-2 carries an 80-90% chance of OBs.

Genital herpes caused by HSV-1 carries a 50% chance of OBs.

OB sores can occur in areas that are not covered by a latex condom, so condoms are not fool-proof in protecting from contracting genital herpes.

Even if a person does not have any symptoms he or she can still infect sex partners.

You can’t get herpes from swimming pools, towels or toilet seats.

Frequency and severity of herpes OBs vary between individuals.

The most common symptom of genital herpes is one or more sores or blisters that appear on the genitals, anus, buttocks.

Some things thought to trigger Obs are:

stress;

anxiety;

other illnesses;

menstruation;

and extreme weather exposure.

OBs are most common in the first year after infection with herpes.

Oftentimes signs like tingling, itching, numbness or tenderness where the sores will appear occur a few days before an OB.

Genital herpes can be well managed with medication, stress management and healthy eating.

Genital herpes infections almost never cause long-term damage in healthy adults.

Research has shown that genital herpes does not cause cervical or any other types of cancers.

With proper treatment and open communication, most people with herpes find they can have normal, healthy, enjoyable relationships.

Symptoms of the herpes virus can be similar to symptoms of other diseases, so the best way to be sure whether you have it to get tested.

For immediate relief from an OB:

You can take warm baths or hold ice packs on the sores for several minutes.

You can wear loose cotton clothes to prevent chafing.

Keep the area dry with baby powder or cornstarch.

You can take aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen to relieve pain and fever.

Women who get herpes before becoming pregnant have a low risk of passing the virus to the baby.

Risk of infant herpes increases if mother gets herpes during final trimester of pregnancy.

A genital herpes diagnosis in a long-term, monogamous relationship does not mean a partner was unfaithful.

Herpes can be transmitted through oral sex.

There is no absolute cure for the herpes infection at this time.

If you have genital herpes, avoid (or reduce) activities that may affect OBs, like:

poor diet;

overexertion;

emotional or physical stress;

lack of sleep;

excess alcohol;

and surgical trauma.

Excessive friction during intercourse may trigger OBs.

Genital herpes does not mean that your sex life is over.

Approximately 70% of genital herpes cases result from asymptomatic shedding, when no signs or symptoms exist.

It’s been reported that people who tell their partners of their diagnosis are rarely rejected.

Herpes has not been found to affect fertility or ability to have children.

Research suggests that when someone has both HIV and HSV, the HIV virus may be increased in genital secretions, increasing the risk of HIV transmission to sexual partners.

Cold sores and canker sores are not related, though people mistake the two.

Cold sores are contagious.

Canker sores are not contagious.

Cold sores appear around the mouth and symptoms include:

tiny, fluid-filled blisters or sores around the mouth, surrounded by red (inflamed) skin;

days before appearance of blisters soreness or tingling around mouth area;

and, discomfort and appearance of blisters generally last between 7 and 10 days.

Cold sores can sometimes be found on nostrils, chin or fingers.

Oral herpes OB can occur from contact with someone who has an active lesion through activities like sharing eating utensils, razors and towels.

Cold sores typically heal without medicine. But, you may want to seek medical attention if:

the blisters don’t go away within one to two weeks;

you have a pre-existing health condition that has put your immune system at risk;

symptoms are severe;

you have frequent outbreaks;

or if eye irritation occurs.

Some people are at greater risk of contracting cold sores and should be avoided, including:

infants;

people with eczema;

or people with a suppressed immune system caused by cancer, AIDS or an organ transplant.

If herpes infects the eye, it can cause corneal scarring — one of the major causes of blindness in the U.S.

Expectant mothers must alert their physician if either she or her partner has genital herpes.

To protect yourself and your partner from contracting oral herpes and to avoid spreading it to other body parts:

don’t kiss or have skin contact with infected persons during an OB;

don’t share items like eating utensils, towels, lip balm;

during OBs, wash your hands carefully and regularly;

use caution when touching other body parts, especially eyes and genitals;

avoid stressful situations, like cold or flu, lack of sleep or prolonged sun exposure without sunblock;

and, use sunblock on lips and face prior to prolonged sun exposure— in winter and summer.

In some cases, the decision to not use condoms may be agreed upon in a relationship where both partners understand the risks of contracting genital herpes.

Because of society’s negative misconceptions about genital herpes, you should prepare yourself before approaching others about the topic.

Discuss your genital herpes with a partner when you are not ‘in the mood’ for sex, when you’re feeling confident, and when you can pay full attention to the conversation.

Anywhere you feel safe and comfortable is a good place to talk about herpes with a partner.

Discussing genital herpes may strengthen your relationship and bring you closer together as a couple.

Some people find that seeking counseling helps them cope with their diagnosis.

Detoxification Dangers – Ten Things To Watch Out For

You might not think this is important, but in today’s day and age everything around us contains harmful chemicals and pollutants. It has never been more important to detoxify our bodies to keep them healthy. It is said that by removing and eliminating the toxins within the body, it can help protect from disease and boost health. The process of detoxification concentrates on our internal organs, especially those that detoxify our bodies – the liver and colon in particular.

1. What Is Detoxification?

This term relates to the removal of toxins in the body, such as drugs or alcohol. Detoxification treatments range from consuming special foods like brown rice and organic fruits and vegetables to herbal cleansing mixtures, to colonic irrigation.

As with any medical program, a doctor should be consulted before starting. In addition, there are some precautions to take before undergoing a diet detoxification. There are side affects and certain groups of people should not use detoxification programs at all. The following are ten things to watch for when detoxifying your body and a list of those who should not detoxification at all.

2. For Children And The Elderly

Those with eating disorders should not attempt detoxification. Many elderly are already experiencing an inadequate immune system and should not undergo a detoxification program. People with diabetes or low blood sugar should also not attempt detoxification programs. It is generally agreed that detoxification should not be performed on children or the elderly. Children and elderly are not good candidates for detoxification. A doctor should be consulted first. Teenagers need good nutrition and diets that involve fasting deplete needed nutrition. Some diets such as detoxification can become addictive.

3. For Pregnant And Nursing Mothers

Women who are pregnant or nursing should not undergo a detoxification program. Detoxification depletes the body of many important nutrients important to pregnant mothers and those who breastfed. In addition, if using herbs, consult a doctor. There are many natural herbs that should not be used during pregnancy.

4. Spreading Infection

Those who choose to detoxification their body through colonic irrigation should be aware of the risk of spreading infections to the intestinal tract. There is also a danger of puncturing the bowel from this procedure. During irrigation, up to fifteen gallons of water or herbal mixtures are fed into the colon. The colon is rinsed and the result comes out of another tube. There is research to suggest that this procedure is neither safe nor helpful to the body.

5. Prescription Drugs

If you take prescription medication, you are at risk if you detoxify your body. Seek medical advice before attempting a detoxification regimen. Master cleanser detoxification diets should not be attempted without strict and severe concequences unless under the supervision of a doctor.

13 Things Women Want in a Man

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

You may think that women want someone who is buffed and tanned and looks like a bodybuilder model from GQ. Those things are nice and yes we like to look at those guys, but just like you don’t need for us to look like Victoria Secret models we don’t require it in our man. OK. The 13 most important qualities that women look for

in a man are:

1. Honesty

2. Intelligence

3. Nice Smile

4. Sense of Humor

5. Manners

6. Sensitivity

7. Sincerity

8. Gainfully employed

9. Has own place

10. Owns a car

11. Affectionate

12. Considerate

13. Thoughtful

OK. First things first. Honesty is the NUMBER ONE trait that women look for in a man. That doesn’t mean to be brutally honest and tell her she looks fat. (Never do that) but we want to know that we can trust that what you are telling us is the truth. If you’ve lied in the past it will be a very cold day in Hell before she trusts you again. And she may want to check your phone messages and read your email and call you 10 times a day to feel secure that you’re trustworthy again. You may not like that but if you lie it may be the price you have to pay.

Intelligence: Women want to feel safe and protected and we want our men to be smart. Maybe even smarter than us. Women feel that your brain is your sexiest organ. So dazzle us with your brain and you will be surprised how stimulated we become. Kick her ass at “Jeopardy” and watch what happens.

Smile: We love your smile. We can’t get enough of it. It makes us want to touch you and kiss you. So brush and floss and see your dentist and keep your mouth kissably fresh.

Sense of Humor: If you can keep us laughing you are golden. We love to laugh and we love a man who can make us laugh. This goes back to the smart thing as well. You have to be smart to be humorous. We like a man who’s humor challenges us. Leave that 3 Stooges stuff for the guys. Women don’t appreciate 12 year old juvenile humor.

Manners: Little things like manners are very important. Women don’t want their man to drive up and reach over from the driver’s seat and open the passenger door or just wait for us to open the door. A little old fashioned chivalry goes a long way. Escort the lady to the car and open the door for her. We love to be treated like queens. It makes us feel like you think we’re special. And hopefully you do think she’s special. We love a man with manners. We know we can take him home and our parents will love him. We don’t want to have to worry about what you might do or say. We want to be with a man not a boy. That means no farting, belching, toe or nose picking, spitting, or smacking your lips when you eat. We want to know we can take you in public and we won’t be embarrassed. And don’t forget we also like to show you off to our girlfriends and we want them to approve. You want the girlfriends to think you’re a “Keeper”.

Sensitive: That whole thing about being “Sensitive” and getting in touch with your “Feminine Side” are all very true. A woman is waaaay more attracted to a man who isn’t afraid to show his feelings and be gentle and sensitive. We actually think that makes you more manly. A man who clams up and thinks being macho is what we want is very wrong. One of the things that is extremely attractive to a woman is when it’s obvious that you are attracted to us. There is nothing hotter than seeing how much we turn you on. Don’t be afraid to show

that. But of course there are limits and this can easily be overdone. Be careful about showing things like that at work or you might find yourself in a sexual harassment situation. And if you decide to try to tip your hand to a woman and show your interest, remember to keep it subtle. No woman likes a STALKER or a HORNDOG! We love to know that we are getting to you, but not in an obnoxious way. You may have to make some changes in

your behavior. But of course, they’ll be changes for the better and you will most likely be happier for it.

Sincerity: This is a little like honesty, but what I mean is if you need to change some of your behaviors to be more attractive to women then don’t just do it to get the girl. This is something that has to be real. If you think that’s not you, then maybe you should think about making a change. You can decide you don’t want to change, that you like yourself the way you are, but if that was working for you then you probably wouldn’t be reading this article. You were drawn to this piece because you must truly want to know how to be better with

women and if you sincerely do then you may need to take an honest look at yourself and decide what you want because it has to be real.

Employed: OK. This is a no-brainer, but truthfully there are some men out there without jobs that think they can get all the women they want. I have no idea what makes them think that, but their egos are on overtime. Women need security and we want a man who can provide for us. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to work, but it does mean that we want to know that you are a responsible MAN.

Has Own Place: OK. Matthew McConaughey was really cute in Failure to Launch but that was a comedy. Seriously we don’t want to have a sleepover at your Mom’s house. Having your own place just shows us again that you are a responsible adult. And it does help if your place is decorated nicely. I don’t mean you have to hire a decorator, but we’re not drawn to frathouse chic. Impress us with your style. Again we want MEN not BOYS!

Has Own Car: This may not be important if you live in New York or in a place where the public transportation makes owning a car unnecessary but in most of the world you need a car to pick up your date and take her out. It is important to mention here that even though we love luxury cars we don’t need that in our man. Women love men with all kinds of cars, but FYI keep your car clean (especially the inside). Nothing says SLOB more than a dirty car. Take out the fast food wrappers and keep it neat and smelling nice.

Affectionate: We really do love to touch and be touched. And I am not talking sexually here. But try holding her hand when she’s not expecting it or gently rubbing her back. Little touchy things like that mean a lot. Rub her arm when you’re reading the paper or do little things like foot and hand massages. Women love that.

Be Considerate: We appreciate the little things like holding a door open or not walking ahead of us. If we’re sleeping make sure you turn out the light when you leave. Show her you care by picking up after yourself. When you get some dessert out of the fridge ask if she’d like some or make sure you leave some for her. Just basic consideration is so important to us.

Thoughtfullness: This may sound like consideration, but it goes a little further. Being thoughtful of her needs goes a long way. Maybe give her a call from work just to see how she’s doing. While we love that we don’t want to be smothered with a bunch of calls all day long. Bring something home for her when you go to the store, like some fresh flowers (I know that’s cliché, but that’s because it works) or maybe some of her favorite ice cream…just because. This shows us that you are thinking of us and that makes us feel important and special.

Those 2 words important and special should be burned into your brain. If you can always make a woman feel important and special you will be an irrisistable Chick Magnet.

How to Get a Girl’s Attention-These are the Things that Worked on Me!

Friday, January 8th, 2010

I’m going to make this easy for you.

DO:

1. If you’re at a crowded bar (or anywhere), and you see a girl having a hard time making up to the bar to get a drink help her get there. Then of course you have the option of buying her a drink, which she will probably need after coming out of the mosh pit.

2. Smile. The smile is the best ice breaker ever, no question. There is nothing worse than staring at a girl looking like Chester-the-Molester, good luck getting a date that way buddy. Not gonna happen. Having a smile on your face shows that you’re a happy person and that you’re approachable, who knows maybe a girl will even approach you.

3. Women love competition. Why is this? I don’t know, but capitalize on this whenever possible. If a girl sees you talking to another girl(s) see gets the sense that you’re desirable and must have something worth going after. This will help bring attention to you. FYI: this does not work if the girl watching is your girlfriend, that’s not a good situation for you.

4. Be mysterious. Talk to a girl for about two minutes then realize you have somewhere else to be, asking for her number on your way out the door. Make it seem like a situation where you’re the hero, going to go make sure your little brother has a ride home from the movies etc. This makes her feel like she didn’t get to talk to you enough, so she’ll give you her number. Don’t forget to flash a smile as you walk away.

5. Be confident. Notice I said confident not cocky. A guy that respects himself and has a presence when he walks into a room is very desirable. You’d be surprised to find that most women view Calvin Klein models only as eye candy, they’re looking for something deeper. Even if you’re just looking for a one night stand, you’re not going to get anywhere by being cocky or a wallflower.

6. Don’t be afraid to talk. Never be afraid to strike up conversation with a girl. Keep it light, like I said be a little mysterious. Notice the area around you and pick something out of that to talk about, and always be nice and courteous. One of my best friends met her current boyfriend when he opened the door for her on her way out of a club, they talked for a few minutes and have been together ever since.

DON’T:

1. Use cheesy pickup lines. Pickup lines make girls feel uncomfortable and viewed only as a sex object, it’s creepy. Don’t do it, regardless of what your intentions are with this girl.

2. The first time meeting a girl never bring up anything about ex girlfriends, living with your mom, your life story, etc. If you let her know everything about you now she has no reason to give you her number, she could write a book about you.

3. Be a jerk. It’s not sexy and it won’t get you anywhere.

I hope that these tips work for you, and don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t happen right away. It takes practice to build your confidence with talking to women, I know how intimidating they can be sometimes. Sometimes you just have to realize that a girl isn’t looking for a guy at that moment, it doesn’t mean you aren’t attractive or she wouldn’t date you if she could…don’t take things personally when you’re meeting someone for the first time.

Continue to work on the things you’re not so good at, but give yourself points for when you make improvements. Having a positive attitude will get you so much further than stressing about ways to change yourself. It’s small improvements that make us better, not personality transplants.

I don’t own a magic wand, I wish I did. But thanks to trial and error of my own, and my friends, I think I’ve been able to put together something that can help you. We’ve all been in a hard spot at one time or another, and what defines us is our ability to get out of it. Getting a girl’s attention doesn’t have to be difficult or painful, it just takes a little work.  Most of the people I’ve talked to about relationships advice enjoy this website: http://www.themagicofmakingupstore.info I hope that it can do for you what I’ve seen it do for others.

Brentwood Motorcycle Accident Attorney’s Top Ten Things You Think to Do as You Get Into a Motorcycle Accident

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

1. Go shopping for new clothes.

2. Go shopping for a new motorcycle.

3. See if there’s any money left on the credit card.

4. Have a pizza.

5. Trade in the motorcycle or what’s left of it on something with air bags.

6. Get drunk.

7. Be a better person if you come out of this okay.

8. Explain to mom this wasn’t your fault.

9. Cancel the bike trip up the coast.

10. Call work and explain why you won’t be there tomorrow.

Here are ten useful tips of advice from a motorcycle accident lawyer to follow if you have been in an accident. You can also learn more about how to handle a motorcycle accident in Brentwood, or any city, by calling the Law Offices of R.

Seventh, call a good motorcycle accident attorney as soon as you have had your initial treatment, so the lawyer can gather other important evidence and prevent the insurance company from taking advantage of you and obtaining such things as recorded statements that you feel fine, when many of your symptoms have yet to manifest themselves. A good motorcycle accident attorney can save you from making a great deal of mistakes and can shoulder much of the hassle of knowing what to do about car repairs, car rentals, medical treatment, witness statements and the like. If you think you will save money by not having an attorney, think again. A good motorcycle accident lawyer can almost always obtain much higher settlements, obtain reductions of medical bills and insurance liens and prevent you from making costly mistakes. Also, most motorcycle accident lawyers advance costs of obtaining police reports, medical records and the like and are paid and reimbursed for these costs only out of any settlement.

If you’ve had a motorcycle accident in Brentwood, Long Beach, Century City, Santa Monica, Carson, Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Oxnard, Cambria or San Luis Obispo, or anywhere in Southern California, we have the knowledge and resources to be your Brentwood Motorcycle Accident Lawyer and your Santa Monica Motorcycle Accident Attorney. Be sure to hire a California law firm with auto, motorcycle, truck, bicycle, pedestrian, car, bus, train, boat and airplane accident experience, wrongful death experience and insurance law expertise who can ensure you are properly represented and get the compensation you deserve.

If you have a personal injury legal matter, a dog bite or if you’ve lost a loved one in a wrongful death accident, call the Law Offices of R. Sebastian Gibson, or visit our website at http://www.SebastianGibsonLaw.com  and learn how we can assist you.

10 Things I Hate About Alcoholism and Addiction

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

My own Drug and Alcohol Abuse took me into the world of Depression and Alcohol withdrawal symptoms and treatment. Something I cannot recommend. The phrases ‘Dead Man Walking’ and ‘At the End of the Road’ come to mind. Just looking at my Blog’s photos should scare the daylights out of you. Even I sometimes have to remind myself that shell of a man was me.

So here I am now. 2009 dawns and I have survived. Believe me folks I have to pinch myself sometimes. But here lies the crux of the matter. If I could do it so can you. The human spirit is an amazing and resiliant force of nature. That primal urge and desire to survive is always there. Buried very deep sometimes but all the same it is there. You just have to find it.

I come out of it with a list of things I hate about Alcoholism and Depression. Let me share them with you. Hopefully we can all learn something from my experiences.

I lost years of my life. I was alive and on this glorious earth, but only just. I drifted through these years in a bubble of confusion and despair. Boy does it taste sweet now.

So many people were insulted, offended, disgusted, surprised, shocked and devastated by my very presence and actions. To all these good souls thank you for carrying me through.

What is it about all that stuff that comes out of your body? At my very worst I poured liquids and slime from every possible part of my body. Even writing this makes me feel uneasy. How could I end up like that?

How is it possible to feel so bad due to Alcoholism and Depression? Take a dose of flu, malaria, migranes, sleeping sickness, gastro revolution and TB and you are just about on a par. You will feel so bad that you will eventually believe it is all a horrible nightmare.

Your Drug and Alcohol Abuse will introduce you to the dark world of Depression and Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms and Treatment. Trust me when I say that you do not want to know about these mothers. Fancy Electric Shock Therapy or been knocked out for 10 days in a hospital bed? Well keep up your addictions and they will come calling sooner or later.

As your depression and addiction behaviour becomes more and more obscure you can force your loved ones to rely on ‘Tough Love’. Threats to leave you or force you into rehab will intensify as they see you disintegrate before thier very eyes. What a terrible choice you have forced upon them.

On the material front you might as well be in a time-warp. You are standing still in terms of your business and social lives. In many cases as these monsters take hold you can end up losing everything. We all have different gutters. Be aware that you might absolutely end up in a gutter. You deserve better.

The reality of never drinking again is going to have to be dealt with. You could wel have to navigate through 50 or 60 years with these demons on your back. I wish I had stopped earlier and maybe this Xmas day I could have a glass of champagne.

In my efforts to get my favourite poisons I would do almost anything. Alcoholism and Depression will turn you into something that you are not. A devious, sly and cunning opportunist. Lies, theft and deception are your new character traits. The word ‘relaxation’ will become unfamiliar to you. No matter how you appear on the surface on the inside you are slowly dying. At no time will you feel content and at ease with the world spinning around you.

I apologise if this article leaves you feeling a little uneasy. That was the object. My own version of ‘Tough Love’. Drug and Alcohol Abuse means there is a price to pay. Depression and Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms and Treatment is not a pleasant journey. All those days of numb acceptance will have to be faced sooner or later. From an old hand. Do not go there.
