I’m writing a series, help me out?
Wednesday, April 27th, 2011I have been writing short installments (episodes) about seven pages long each, about a few characters. I’m trying to figure out how to write this next bit.
Skye is a freshman in college, and her boyfriend goes to a college in a neighboring state. Skye’s father was a drug addict. He and her mother divorced when she was a baby. Skye finally had enough of it and told him if he wouldnt go to rehab she would move across the country and live with her mom. He lied and said he was going to rehab, and when Skye found out, she left.
She has issies with drugs now, as is to be expected. They make her very uncomfortable and she doesnt trust people who do them, even just pot. Her boyfriend used to smoke pot, but quit because he knew it made her uncomfortable. Whenever she asked him about drugs, he’d say that he wouldnt do them again. He didnt want to hurt her like that.
A few months into the college year, Skye goes up to surprise-visit her boyfriend Tom. And he’s stoned off his ass. She finds out that he’s been smoking since even before he left. He’d been lying to her for months.
I think my readers want me to work this thing between Tom and Skye out. Can you see any plausible way of doing it? Skye is NOT going to be okay with him smoking, and She has no reson to trust Tom anymore.
Any way to salvage this?
