My father committed suicide. We are all having a hard time with this because that just wasn’t the type of person he was. Our uncle had come for a visit and he had Valium on him. He knew my father was a cross-addicted alcoholic and still did not do what my mother had asked him which was to keep the pills away from him. My father never knew what valium was going to do to him so when he stole them from my uncle, he just wanted the high and when it didn’t come fast enough, he took the whole bottle. He tried to apologize to my uncle for stealing them once my uncle found out and my uncle became very irrational and yelling at my dad. Which then resulted in my father finding a rifle in the basement and committing suicide.
Our family can not rest knowing my father’s death certificate is going to say suicide. Is this considered negligent homicide or involuntary manslaughter?

On the show Celebrity rehab i heard she admitted to blowing her dentist to get him to write her and her mother both prescriptions http://www.celebritymonkey.net reports the prescriptions for heavy duty drugs and lots of them can anyone confirm this maybe her dentist ? thanks

Ok, so lemme give you some background information. My Mother in law has had several surgeries in the last year and a half. in August of 2010 she found out she had breast cancer. She went through the chemo and had a bi lateral mastectomy.

However before her Chemo started she lost her job and since then has used up her remaining insurance benefits to have the re constructive surgery on her chest. She was supposed to have back surgery for her MS but her insurance ran out before she good so she suffers from pain from her back and the still healing re constructive surgery. Somewhere during all of this she has become addicted to her pain medications. She will admit she is addicted and says she wants help. She has talked to her Dr.s and they have told her there isnt anything they can do other then a lower dose but she will just take those in excess to equal the stronger medicine.

So here we are and we want to help her and she wants the help but we are at a loss as to how to get her to cut back and then ultimately off the pain meds. She is in constant pain but we dont know if its partly in her head or if its real but the fact that shes saying she wants the help means she knows in her heart something is wrong with how many of the pills she is taking.

So does anyone have any ideas on what we can do to help her? Medical help is out of the question because she doesnt have insurance anymore.

My friend’s mom just took 2 vicodins,a xanex, 3 of some other antidepressants,and some other pills.Then,she drank wine and fell asleep. My friend doesn’t know what to do,and idk what to tell her.

what should i do? and don’t tell me “stop taking diet pills”, because first of all, i do work out everyday, and eat healthfully, but it helps me not want to binge and purge which is good. My mom even told me i look smaller, which is allso good. Only problem is i cant get to sleep, then i sleep until noon. How can i get to sleep?

I’ve been addicted to pills since I was 17 or 18 years old. Vicodin,Percocet,Oxycontin and any other kind of pain pill. I’m 22 now and I have a beautiful one year old daughter. I’ve tried everything but when I’m not on pills I’m not happy. It’s selfish of me and I don’t know why I just can’t be happy like everyone else. My mother and father are both alcoholics and drug addiction and alcoholism runs on both sides of my family. Someone please help.

My mom was ( and possibly still is) addicted to prescription drugs. She would overdose on her multiple pills everyday but her body was used to it so she didn’t die when anyone else would have.
Anyways… So she still takes sleeping pills. Two of them. Ambien and Trazadone.

So here are my questions.

What are Ambien and Trazadone?
Are the two a bad mix? Or just bad in general?
Are they narcotic or addictive?
If I try to wake up a person on a sleep med(s) should they be able to wake up and function?

I’m going to cut her out of my life unless she decides to go to rehab. What is the best way to say this to an addict? Will the message even get through the drug haze? Do I have to do it in person?

Okay so I’ve had anxiety for 4 years and all my doctors get me is Ati van, Clones, anything that ends with ”pam” but I noticed that when I take a couple I get kinda high but it also stops my panic disorder and anxiety but I’m worried I may be addicted :( my mother is addicted to pills

She as well drinks a lot of alcohol and in the past done other drugs. Everyday it takes its toll on me, I’m 17 years old and act like I’m 25 because i have to. I know my mother does not want the help and I’m stuck because she causes a lot of pain in my life but she is my mother and I cant let her go, I upset always because I just want a normal mom and I have no dad and I have no one to be my role model, I dont know how to let go and let god deal with it, being so young I have no clue how to help her she lies alot and never goes through with anything, please tell me what to do….let go or at least try to get her help.

For as long as I can remember, my mother has been taking Lortab. I have always just thought it’s ok because she is in pain. It just so happens that all of a sudden my mother wanted to change to the doctor I work for. I have noticed recently that even if her prescription is not due, that she is always out. I checked her chart last week and she went through 146 Lortab 10 in a month. I have confronted her about this, and she says that she doesn’t have a problem. My father has always accused her, but she always counters back and says that he is lying or over-reacting. I want to help her! She is my only mother and all I keep thinking about is that she is going to kill her kidneys or even herself. Please help!

ok iv been on the medicine for my ADD for about 4 years now and it worked great compared to the other medicine i tried. im 18 now and just graduated and my mom thinks im still taking the pill for its side effects of loss of appetite. Which im not really i told her that i feel a real change in when it take it and don’t take it. I get much more accomplished in the day when i do take it i focus better. she doesn’t listen to me and says that im dependent on it and is always angry now a days, which sounds like a drug addict. to be honest i am always mad, at her. she’s always doing stuff like this, like omg her life is so hard, always getting stressed out about little things and yells and blames it somehow on me, and im not saying my life is much harder but when she has a little list of things to do for the day she acts like its insanely long but spend half the day on facebook…..i love my mom and she loves me but its just hard. so she wants to take me to a new doctor and make me not take my pill for 3 weeks till the appointment which pisses me off even more because she does stuff like that… plz help me find the words to explain to my mom im not addicted to the pills thx

This has been obvious for years. My mom started her addiction when I was 15, 6 years ago. She has always been the type to get easily addicted. She once was a cocaine addict, alchoholic, and she was addicted to pain shots from the doctor. It was so bad when I was around 8, she would actually have us walk to the hospital so she could get her fix and she still will go to the doctor if she has no pills. She went to the hospital so much at one time they refused to see her anymore at about 2 to 3 hospitals around our area. Anyway, she started driving a truck and got a back injury and was perscribed pain pills. She then quit her job and stoped working from then on. She hasnt had but 1 or 2 jobs in all this time. She is not the same woman she used to be. Come to think of it I wouldn’t recognize my mother if she was completely sober. She is actually addicted to gambling to, I am talking about so addicted that we went without electric while she was a truck driver addicted. So she has also got my sister hooked. I just dont know what to do anymore I know its just the drugs, but because her and my sister have that in common they’ve pretty much abandoned me. I am a mother of two who is a stay at home mom. My point is that i’ve actually called her crying for help and her say no, but she’ll watch my sister’s son any day of the week. It hurts, I am fed up, and I want to help them. So I can have a real mother and my daughters a real grandmother. Any idea on how I can help them.

My mother is disabled and a prescription pain pill addict. She has serious back problems and got hooked to the pills. Her doctor has been told about her addiction and continues to prescribe her the pills. I want to know if there is any legal action I can take to get the doctor to stop giving her pain medication.

I am in desperate need of some help. So mother my oldest brother and two of my cousins are all addicted to percocet, and roxicets, I really want them too all stop but nobody will listen too me! My brother told me the other day that if hes not on some kind of drug he wants to die! It broke my heart so bad! I really don’t want anything too happen to either of them! I need some answers! It was prescribed to my mother because she was having great pain in her knee. She seems to be better now and doesn’t take the pill anymore. She has some left. I just wanted to feel the feeling of it. I’ve never smoked or drank or got high in my entire life. I just wanted to try out oxycodene. Will two 5mg pills get me addicted, I don’t want to be addicted.

My aunt has just recently contacted me and my family after two years of not seeing much of each other. She had a great job and never had too worry about anything. But now she has been asking my mother and other relatives for great amounts of money. She has lost a bunch of weight and is always depressed. She lost her job which means she lost medical and we are afraid she will go out on the streets to find the drugs we think may have caused her great down fall. Please give me some ideas of what i could do to help her before she dies.
