Letter to Beethoven from Mozart, calling all musical nuts!?
Thursday, May 5th, 2011Hell all,
I need to write a letter thant Mozart may have sent Beethoven after the young Beethoven was forced to return to Bonn after his mother’s death.
I need to include:
- What Mozart might have said to encourage Beethoven to continue with this musical studies.
- Life and musical lessons Mozart may have shared with Beethoven.
- Some realities of living in the classical period Mozart may refer to, and why.
I have done this so far:
Beethoven,
Let me first begin by expressing my deepest condolences for the death of your mother, such a regrettable occurrence, regardless, I hope you are faring well. Despite your having to return to Bonn, you should not dwell on what could have been in Vienna, instead see this as an opportunity to refine your works, and become a better musician for it. Musical study really is one of the best distractions one could think of, and should take your thoughts off of your mother’s passing. Do not let your grief fester, instead use it as a tool for your composition, allow it to drive the creation of the masterful works I know you are capable of producing.
I am also aware that, due to your father’s alcoholism; you have been entrusted with the care of your two younger siblings. I know that such a responsibility can hinder your musical studies somewhat, but do not let that deter you; you have far too much potential for it to be squandered on ill fate. Such is the reality of things, and one can only ever concentrate on that which one can control.
Any pointers/additions would be great,
Thanks!
