Since returning from college, I’ve realized that my father holds some very racist and sexist opinions which he justifies by saying he is “older than me.” I think this is ridiculous and because of that we have clashed heads many times. I also found out yesterday that he has another problem: inebriated driving. After leaving a friend’s house he insisted on driving even though he drank plenty. And instead of standing up and taking the keys away from him, my mother did what she always does and gave in, endangering my brothers’ lives (she refused to let them stay back with me). Now bcuz of my “rude” behavior they refuse to buy me the car i was promised, unless i “change my ways” What should I do?

It’s been a few years since she passed away, but I don’t want to let her down.
