What can I live in outside the house away from noisy alcoholic mother?
Saturday, November 27th, 2010Mom is an alcoholic, she plays music all night long from 9pm until early morning, it is now 3:16am and she’s playing loud oldies. I have to sleep in order to work in order to get money in order to move out.
I have asked her to be quiet but she refuses, she’s a stubborn unreasonable dysfunctional drunk and I can do nothing about it, what can I live in outside away from the house in order to get decent sleep?
Any ideas are welcome, thanks!
I’d simply rent a studio apt but currently I am unable to afford such a thing because of restless nights costing me my job and sanity. I am nearing the brink of suicide at some moments.
she has too much pride she doesnt want help
Should I let this rehab chick stay at my house since her mom is a religious nut?
Monday, November 15th, 2010There is this Christian chick named Mary that keeps coming over to my house when she sneaks out of rehab where her mother had her committed for not saying grace before she had some Oreo cookies and milk one day. Her mom said that makes her an atheist and put her in rehab, where the preacher running it sexually abuses her worse than her mother did.
Anyway, do you think I should let Mary stay with me and learn to be a real atheist, or do you think I should let her go back to her mother’s house when she gets out of rehab? I think she gets out pretty soon.
Carl: “Rant”? Trolling maybe, but you need to use a dictionary if you think this is a rant.
my mom owns 2 homes and is giving me one can medicare sell my house for medical bills?
Sunday, November 14th, 2010my dad kicked me out of the house because i tried to get him help for alcoholism. I’m now homeless. what to do?
Friday, November 12th, 2010born in pittsburgh pa. dad left when i was 2. my mom moved back in with my grandparents. they raised me instead of her till i was 14. they die in a car accident when i was 14, which put me back in the care of mother who rejected me and put me out in streets. i fought through. found a job traveling the country selling books when i was around 18 or 19. came back to PA. after about a year of that. was homeless again. found stability with friends for a while. bouncing from house to house. trying to make it on my own a few times, and things would always happen to fall out from beneath me, no matter how hard i tried to keep them together. i don’t drink. i don’t do drugs. it was just 1 thing or another messing up my living situations. i recently moved in with my real dad, who again split when i was 2,and kinda just met the guy. He is a violent alcoholic, and i tried to talk to him about getting treatment to quit. he kicked mo out of his house saying “If i don’t like what he does in his house to get out and never come back.” He really kicked me out…I now have no where to go. I’m homeless, and don’t have many friends, and none that i could rely on for help in a situation like this. what do i do?
Concerns that the house we are renting is a former meth lab?
Sunday, October 10th, 2010I rent a house with my wife and 1 year old son. The former owners of the house smoked a lot. Before we moved in, my wife and I wiped the walls down with cleaning solution and they just dripped black water when we sprayed the cleaning solution on them. It took a long time to clean them but the smell is MUCH better now. Anyway, my mother called me today and asked me if I had ever thought that this house was a former meth lab because of the smell. From what I have read, the smell in a former meth lab is very chemical. We’ve never smelled anything other than just stale smoke in this house. My mother covertly swabbed some dust from the cracks of the house and tested it with some meth tester. It didn’t register positive but eventually did a few days later. We really doubt that it was a meth lab but we don’t know what it would smell like. Is there a way to determine for sure? I’m afraid the landlords may just lie if we ask. Would the police department test the house for free?
Step-Mom lets 14 year old Sisters friends drink alcohol at house…?
Sunday, October 3rd, 2010I live in a different state than my Dad and Step-Mom. My Step-Mom had gastric bypass last year and started trying to reclaim her youth in the process my Dad moved out of the house unwillingly. My sister told me a few months ago that her Mom was now letting her get away with anything, like boys stay over night with her and my 13 year old Sister. My Step-Mom has also been letting my Sisters under age friends drink alcohol at the house under the agreement that my Sister does not drink at all, which of course she does any way because they are not being supervised well and when caught her Mom doesn’t do anything. A few months back my Dad was called by the cops to come pick my 14 year old Sister up because she had been at a party that got broken up and was drunk. I don’t know what to do, it bothers me and I am worried about my Sister. She has said herself she hates that her Mom is trying to be “cool” and is acting like a teenager herself since the gastric bypass and wishes she was more strict and more of a Mom. I can’t tell my Dad and betray my Sisters trust because then I will never know how they are doing. Plus I really don’t think my Dad could do anything anyway, He and my SM are still married even though she ran them into debt and forged his name and lied about finances and didn’t pay the mortgage because my Dad can’t afford a lawyer. I am so worried one of my Sisters will end up in a bad situation if my Step Mom doesn’t start acting like a parent soon. What would you do? What do you think I should do?
Can I comment on this with out doing the add additional details?
They live in CA, it is not legal to let your kids drink there I am almost 100% sure even if it is in your own house.
She is not my Mom thank goodness lol. I figured I could call CPS the problem is I am in a different state and I don’t have any proof. They may show up and that might be enough to make my Step Mom stop letting the kids do this stuff but it may make things worse. Its not like I know exactly when this is happening, I wish. If CPS was notified and they showed up and nothing out of the ordinary was going on then what?
VESPER~ Luckily I am close to sure my Sister, the 14 year old is not having sex, and I know my 13 year old Sis is not. They are very Christian and stick to that at least. They also get straight A’s and are in honor classes so I am not worried about that. I have talked to my Sister and told her just because her Mom is letting her get away with things she needs to be careful and not get herself into trouble because in the long run it will only hurt her. The problem is my Sister does take advantage of it because it is popular and she is one of those really popular girls in high school and that means a lot to her. She is blond, skinny and really pretty. The fact her Mon lets her do these things fits in to this image she wants to portray even though she wants her Mom to act like a parent.
What do do about drug house down the street?
Sunday, September 19th, 2010I live in a community of just over 4000. This town is known for crack. The police will not go after those who use it or smoke. They go after those who produce the crack. Down the street is a crack house. There are small children living in the home. There are four guys, two girls and two small children. They were given the house for free when the Grandpa died. They had no running water and a baby and one other small child. The mother of the son who was given the house works for social service. So she pulled some strings to keep them in the house even though they had no running water. No one in the house works. They are all capable of working. At any given time you drive by the yard is full of people outside drinking beer and smoking. They will not smoke cigs in front of the kids, but they do not have a problem doing crack. The neighbors have called the cops and social service numerous times. Nothing is being done. THe kids are still in the home. The house is fiflth. Read on for more
The door are always wide open. there are two front doors and you can see the mess and fifth. The one drives a nice car and does not work. No one in the house works, and they have been seen at the store using the welfare food card. Which is fine, the kids have to eat. But they are buying food that the little kids could not eat. Like steak and the such. The cops will not do a thing because they are not making the crack. they are only using it. There are how many crack homes in this town, and the cops refuse to do anything, because they are only using not making it. The police claim they have to catch them. Well if they would do a blood test they would show positive for crack. This house has now become a hang out for minors because they can drink beer and have fun. Frustrated and feeling sorry for the kids. The son who owns the house has a mother who is a social worker. So she can pull strings. you would think she would care about her grandkids in that house. more to come.
do not say call the cops duh. the police have been called how many times… but since they are not making the crack or selling it the police will do nothing. even the sherrif has been called. so what can a person do when the police will not do anything , the sherrif or social service………. i feel for those small children. it makes me cry.
I have called protective services, the police and many others have called. this is a case of slipping through the cracks. there is not anything else I can do… I have don all I can do…
Sister coming home from an eating disorder treatment center. What kinds of foods should we have in the house?
Thursday, September 9th, 2010She’s been at the center for 21 days. The nurses called to talk to us about post-center treatment and how we can help her. But my mom and I are both lost at what to stock the kitchen with. Some people said “Whatever she likes” but then some people said she’ll binge on that and purge. So…. now I don’t know…. thanks!
Would you let your child’s friend come over to your house if their mother was a drug addict?
Sunday, September 5th, 2010She showed up at my sons birhtday party strung out.
I know the it’s not the child’s fault and she is a very well behaved and well mannered, but I am affaid that something may happen if her mother shows up to my house while she is high.
My kids do not go over to her house at all unless we are picking up the child and then either me or my husband are with them the whole time.

My brother, who is 45 years old and addicted to crack, is about to lose my mother’s house. Why should I help?
Friday, September 3rd, 2010My mother is in a nursing home with dementia and won’t be back. My husband and I moved in with him to try and get him caught up but he is in thousands of dollars in debt. He has two pending foreclosures on the house and there is a lien on it from the state. He is telling everyone that its my fault he is losing the house when all he does is drink and do crack everyday. My husband and I both have full time jobs. Is it wrong to feel that I need to worry about where my husband and I are going and NOT my brother who could care less about us?
Why does my little brother love inviting black men over to our mom’s house and making them drink alcohol?
Monday, August 23rd, 2010If your house is confiscated by the federal government for drugs in the home, and you have a reverse mortgage?
Tuesday, August 17th, 2010My mother-in-laws two sons living in her home are heroin users, she has applied for a reverse mortgage, if her house is confiscated by the federal government, who pays off this loan to the finance company?

I’ve only blacked out once – tequila body shots were involved…
I still live at home? Wow, I should rent out my apartment for some extra booze money!!!
Pin – You assume wrongly, but we’re still friends! Yay!
Star – Really, do I NEED to answer that? Shirley.
Drug addicted husband, young children in the house, i need help PLEASE!!?
Monday, May 31st, 2010i am a STRUGGLING 24 yr old mother of 3. i lost my job because i was always late for work because my husband would be gone for hours trying to buy drugs. he is addicted to pain pills and since we’ve been married he does not work, help support our kids, pay for anything, or even clean. i do all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, taking care of the kids, shopping, bills and im going to college on top of all it. he is so lazy! all he does is sit on the computer paying games, or in front of the tv. every time i threaten to leave, he says he’ll try harder, or get a job, or something, but its always empty promises. i want him out of my house. i dont trust him around the kids anymore. im scared though because im afraid he will get mad and try to get the kids and keep them from me. and i dont want to get in trouble for knowing about his problem and not turning him in. someone told me that i could have my kids taken away for knowing about his drug use and not reporting it. is this true? plz help!!
listen jordan im not a dumb as* i left him before, and he came up to my moms house and took our son.. left the girls.. there was nothing i could do at the time because authorities said he was “parenting” not kidnapping. i did not know about his drug addiction at this time because it was years ago. i left him for cheating. i think he would want to take them so he can freeload off the state. if you have children you get food, medical, cash.. etc.. he may he is an addict and does what he can to soak off anybody.. even the state
What are the pros and cons of being on the deed to my mother’s house?
Monday, May 24th, 2010My mother is a gambling addict. Here house was completely paid off until last fall when she took out a 30K mortgage. She blew the entire amount on slot machines. I took over her checking account and thought those were safe until she went to the bank last week and clean it out (1200.00). I had been paying the mortgage with her Social Security check and that is even a bit ahead.
My sister and I worry she’ll go a get a second mortgage on the house behind our backs and are entertaining the idea of putting ourselves on the deed to prevent her from doing this. Mom would mostly likely support this.
I know we should (and will) talk with a real estate attorney, but does anyone have any advice? Have you done something similar?
my cousin abandoned her 4 year old at my mother house 3 yrs ago?
Thursday, May 13th, 2010Is there anything I can do to make my mother kick my brother out of the house?
Tuesday, May 11th, 2010My brother is a 24 year old low-life drug addict who doesnt work, who has been in and out of rehab, and disprespects my mother and her house. My mother refuses to make him work or pay for food or necessities. She refuses to kick him out or even give him a deadline. Its gotten to the point where she is in complete denial of the situation: no one is allowed to talk about it with her. If anyone brings it up, she ignores it and pretends like she didnt hear. She is only making my brother worse, and the only way he has any hope of becoming an independent, functioning human being is for her to confront the situation, stop supporting him and make him leave. Is it going to take the entire family abandoning her to make my mom get a clue? She’s been supposed to marry her boyfriend for years now, but he wont marry her if my brother lives there. We’re afraid he’s going to leave her. Why should he have to deal with my brother his entire life?
this has been going on for over 3 years now. We’ve all tried to talk to her. I’m honestly more concerned about her than my brother. She really is acting mentally ill. the worst part is that the exact same thing happened with her mother and brother–my 50 year old uncle still lives with my grandma! she could have learned from that! instead, she’s doing the exact same thing KNOWING it is wrong.
