Stay at home mom of 2 babies whos addicted to injecting crystal meth. any solutions in detoxing? advise?

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

Im a very depressed addict who recently just completed an 18-month drug program and regained custody of my 2yr old from cps. Although I surrounded myself with non-users I found the urge to just use one more time.I did and loved it! I started off by smoking it everyday for a month until I decided i wanted to inject it again. So here i am finding myself injecting myself a couple times a day! Is there any hope for me? how come i haven’t learned my lesson the first time? is there any solutions i could detox and avoid getting my kids taken from me? also im very scared to detox due to the fact i fall into a deep depression everytime and give up! Any advise from anyone????? HELP PLEASE!!!

Are there any strategies to keeping money that might be taken by a nursing home?

Saturday, January 29th, 2011

My father had a lung transplant in May 08 and things have not gone well. Now they will have to move him from the hospital to a nursing home for rehab. My mom is looking for advice in ways to protect her retirement savings by being sucked up by a nursing home. They have worked very hard for their money and don’t want to loose it all if possible.

Should parents with teenage children be letting them get drunk at home?

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Is it alright if they are letting their children drink at home as long as they can watch over them? I’m not sure I agree with this. My mother let me do this at the age of 13 and on. At the time I thought it was cool of course. She’d let me and my friends get drunk under her care. Looking back now I feel it was more her trying to be a friend instead of a parent.

i need to put my mother in a home?!?

Friday, January 14th, 2011

my mom is living in alabama at the moment and i live in texas. my sister has pretty much disowned her. she is a drug attict, she wants everyone to take care of her, and she is very manipulative, she is 56 yrs old. she makes up illnesses and gets doctors to prescribe her LARGE amounts of pills, and she smokes weed, right now she is on speed/meth too. i want to put her in a home, wether that be mental, old folks, or rehab i dont know. i think it would be good for everyone especially my mom. if i could do this they might be able to find out what is REALLY wrong with her, and get someone to rashon her the right medications, she would be taken care of, i would visit often, and it would benifit all of our mental health. she is incompitent to take care of herself. anyways how would i go about doing something like this? is it possible?how much would this cost? ect…? plz help! no rude answers.
alright i got the name and number of her doctor. what questions do i need to ask him??

Mom broke leg, now shes in a nursing home?

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Im hoping for some help and knowledge heres some info :
My mom broke her leg last saturday and went ot the hospital itll take about 6 weeks for it to heal and today they discharged her to a nursing home stating that theres rehab there which is where she needs to go for her leg.
Shes not ill nor sick in any way except for a broken/fractured leg. Theres another facility thats supposed to be fantastic that the insurance is also contracted with but theyre full and have a 2 week waiting list.
This nursing home is an absolute shithole. No phones in the room , one bathroom for 6 people, barely any tvs, old non-hospital beds, etc. It’s a convalescent home it even says so in the name. I cant stand being there and my I dont know how my mom is still remaining sane.
Tomorrow Im calling the insurance to ask them what they can do to get her to a better place to rehab. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much.

Shes 56, has insurance with Medical.
I’m 19 years old and still live with my mother at home and Id do anything for her but its a broken leg shes not senile nor old nor suffered anything but a broken leg/knee and a nursing home is no place to be for that at all. This has nothing to do with me putting her in a home. Thats the worst possible thing anyone could do to any parent in the first place. She needs to be in a hospital environment while getting rehab for a month or so and Im not sure how to do that unless shes actually IN a hospital.

My mom has COPD and just go pneumonia. She has been shuffled back and forth between hospital, rehab, and home.

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

This last time, I decided to explore hospice so she wouldn’t be shuffled to different places. I asked the hospice rep if her antibiotics would be continued as well as food and drink and if family would continue making med decisions, because my goal was for her to hopefully recover from pneumonia, hope for best…knowing she might not recover. I WAS ASSURED BY HOSPICE SOCIAL WORKER THAT HER ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT WOULD CONTINUE–WHICH WAS A BIG FACTOR IN MY DECISION(I HAVE POA)TO MOVE HER TO HOSPICE–I WAS TOLD SOME PEOPLE DO RECOVER. Within 7 hours of her moving, she was no longer on IV treatment(had I known this would be discontinued, I would not have agreed to hospice), we had to beg for food and she went downhill quickly. Today, I p[ulled her fromhospice and took her to emerg room because hospice decision did not feel right. Hospital says comfort care is “pull all meds- and let nature take its course”. I was not told all meds would be pulled. aM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. ANY ADVICE?

what is the legal age to leave home in Georgia?

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

My friend is 17. Her mother is abusive and an addict. My friend is responsible, has a job, and has actually taken care of her abusive mother for too long. She finally had to leave on her 17th birthday when her mother beat her in her broken arm and then fed a sob story to the police. But people tell her different stories so we are unsure if the legal adult age in Georgia is 17 or 18.

Am I a bad daughter for letting my step father keep me from visiting my mom’s home?

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

My step father is an alcoholic and he has never been a nice guy to me and my siblings. I am 28, my sibs are 26 and 20. My mother stays at home, and babysits my kids (2 and 10) when they’re not in school. During one day, my step father took my 2 year old daughter to their farm and proceeded to drink beer and whiskey until he was drunk. My mother came to the farm to check on them and found him drunk and cursing with my daughter. He has had many violent episodes during his drinking binges in the past so this scared me. I have kept my kids from him and their farm ever since. I allow my mom to visit my kids at my house, but my step father is not allowed around me or my kids. I have forgiven my step father, but have chosen to keep him out of our lives. Is that fair to my mom?

Boyfriends mom asks me to find new home for his dog and now she’s harassing me to get dog back from new owner?

Friday, December 24th, 2010

I am unfairly caught in the middle. My EX- boyfriend is a 31 yr old drug addict. He has gone off on a binge for weeks. The last time I went to his apartment to check on him he angrily gave me his puppy, saying he can’t care for him right now. Worried about the pups safety. I immediately contact bf’s mother about what to do. She expressed to me verbablly that while she loves the dog she can’t care for him. I couldn’t care for the pup permanently because I live with a roomate who is afraid of dogs. Bf’s mother gave me instructions to find him a good home. I checked and doubled checked with his mother to confirm if she felt comfortable with me finding the puppy an new home. I have emails and txts where she again tells me she thinks that finding the pup a home would be best…So I did find the pup a great home. Its been 4 days and the daughter has already become attached to the pup, they called me to update me on how the pup is doing and thank me for bringing the dog into their lives.
Now my bf’s mother is harassing me to get dog back from new owner, saying she made a mistake, wants to keep the dog in the family.. She put me in an awful position but I contacted the new owner, explained my ex’s mothers remorse. The new owner says she feels horrible but wants to keep the dog because her daughter is already attached. Does the new owner have to give back the dog?
Mother is threatening to call the cops on me, find the new owner etc. etc. Mother has PHOTOCOPIES of paperwork for dog ie. vet bills, health records but I gave the new owner the ORIGINALS of this paperwork..does the new owner have rights to keep dog? I feel terrible for both sides but the mother made a major decision and its not fair to hold me accountable or harass me if the new owner wants to keep the dog…

where can i find someone to live with us and help take care of my mom, to have a home and a small salary?

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

I need someone that needs a home, to live with us, and help take care of my mom. They will have a warm home, food to eat, etc. , and will be paid a small salary a month. Very small, but if you figure what rent , groceries, lights, water and phone would cost, it comes out pretty good. I would like an older lady, drug and alcohol free, trust worthy, gentle and loving to older people. Must like pets. We have two lovable dogs (outside), and some chickens, probably about 18 or 20. We are in our 60′s, but still young enough to have some life left in us.

Should I apologize to my mother if brought a drunk girl home from the pubs and mum walked in on us while…?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

…the girl sat at the kitchen table and watched me perform fancy tricks with my mum’s best glassware, but my mum walked in which startled me and caused me to loose concentration as I was juggling her fancy dishes? The dishes all broke as you may have guessed!

Or should I even apologize because it’s my mum’s fault that the dishes fell because she startled me?

(And, no, I do not live with my parents; I just visit them, and I recently arrived back from a holiday to visit them.)

Thank you!
Cherry_Blossom: For the past few summers, I have spent my holidays in the southwestern Russian Federation to visit my parents because they still live there, and that’s where I spent the first 22 years of my life. I guess I was just too excited to be back home!

My mom is an alcoholic drinks all day long, and whenever something goes wrong either at home?

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

like leaving a glass in the sink,or a bar of soap in the tub,she yells and screams like i just killed someone. I left a glass in the sink and she told me I had a fat ass (which I don’t) and to get out and I was homeless, etc. I pay all the utilites at our place. She has not talked nicely to me in five days, and yesterday I told her she is behaving wrong and she tells me she thinks I am on drugs, or was drinking after work. Neither. She started a fight with a neighbor because they left a towel by accident on her car. How do you hadle this behavior especially when you are trying so hard to make a nice life for your Mom and yourself. I buy all new furniture for her, flat screen tv’s and am now doing her bedroom over for her,and this is how she behaves. What is wrong with someone who does nothing wrong but to better their life style and this is what I get. How do you handle the yelling and name calling.
