Please Help! 8 is to old to wipe his butt for him and sleep in same bed right?

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

My fiancee still wipes his 8 year olds butt and thinks he should still be sleeping with us. I honestly thought the little boy was afraid to be alone I didn’t realize he still needed his but wiped when he used the bathroom. Grandma does this too. This kid yells for them to come to the bathroom and wipe his but. I told my fiancee when we moved in together I was not sleeping in the same bed with him because a lawyer advised against it in case allegations would be made by his drug addict mom if she came back. My fiancee sleeps with him now and not me. I think they are hurting his independence. I am pregnant and I think these people have some screwed up parenting going on and I am worried. Isn’t 8 too old to need your but wiped? Shouldn’t he be sleeping in his own room? I was a daycare worker and I have noticed some red flags in this little boy for serious problems and I think these people are making them worse. Do you have any advice?

Do you think a person can overcome depression on their own or do you think they need professional help?

Monday, November 28th, 2011

I grew up in an odd way. My dad was an alcoholic and drug addict. My mom was as well, but not nearly as bad as my dad. Whenever my dad smoked marijuana, life was great. However, he never just smoked marijuana…he got drunk most nights and he was a very violent drunk. When he mixed his alcohol with pills, he was dangerous. When I was little, my stomach hurt me all the time because it was always in knots from stress.

My dad was a good man…he was just messed up. He played guitar, sang, painted, wrote poetry and so forth. He lived a rock star life in a small town. When I was 11, my mom divorced my dad and ran off with a man worse than my dad (my dad had been in jail countless times, but they were all misdemeanors…this man had been in jail for shit like rape). I stayed with my mom for a while, but when her boyfriend hit me I left. I lived with my dad in a 1 room trailer that had no water, electricity, heat or anything. We had 1 piece of furniture…a love seat in which most nights my dad was passed out on, so I slept on the floor. We had a kerosine heater that cooked our food and kept us warm. We had cement blocks stacked up out back that we could do our “business” on. Despite everything that was bad, I was happy. Sure, my dad put me through hell…but, he was my dad and I loved him.

When I was 13 my dad left me. I moved in with my mamaw. My dad had moved about an hour and a half away…we know because the hospital in his new town had to call us several times because he was a regular patient (he got the crap beat out of him a lot apparently..but he didn’t feel or remember anything because he would be drunk). That’s all I’m going to say about that time in his life, because I can’t stand to think about it.

When I was 14, my dad died of a drug overdose. My heart became broken beyond repair it seems. For a year after he died, I didn’t leave my room except to go to school…and I’m not exaggerating. I didn’t leave the house for anything…well, around Christmas time I did go to the store to buy my grandparents presents. But that was it.

I wanted to die. I contemplated suicide every day…I even had a suicide not. However, I never acted…I was too afraid of what would happen afterward. I was like that for 3 years. In the past year, I’ve improved some. I’m still not happy, but I don’t hide in my room anymore. Sure, every other day I want to tell the world to f*ck off and go listen to Pink Floyd…but I don’t. Will I get better? Or am I forever screwed up?

I can’t afford to see a psychiatrist so I’m hoping some of you can give me some kind words. Thanks!
Sorry, I meant to tell you my age. I’m 18.

Help! Can my mother really steal my home from me?

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

Like fools, my husband and I were convinced by my mother who was recently divorced and had no where to go that we should sale our small home and buy a new big home that would accomodate her moving in with us. We didn’t really want to as, the house we had was small, but very affordable, but she’s my mom and I felt bad for her.So She gave us $20k and we bought a bigger home. Now, 6 months later it is not working out to say the least, our one condition of her living with us was that her ex-husband who is a drug addict & a criminal was never allowed to be in my home. She told me he moved to the east coast & he was gone.I was suspicious cuz things in my home appered to be tampered with.I installed surveillance cameras & caught him in my home. Now I am having her evicted but she is syaing she owns 1/3 of this house.I am giving her $20K back no problem, but she really thinks she owns a 1/3.Her name is on nothing and we have no contracts or writen agreements.Does she have a case?

Husband is depressed…Need help!!!!?

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

a lot has happened this part yeah and half. fiance at the time had to quit college because we could not afford it, i got pregnant (which later lost the baby) so he decided to join the military. we got married and moved away after his training was over..money has been a tight squeeze every month for the past few months. we have had lots of fights because i have not gotten along with my brother in law or mother in law lately. which i prefer to never have to deal with them again. and i am fine with my husband seeing them where ever (its family) all of this has caused him to hit rock bottom. not wanting to be around me, any of his friends, he no longer wants to go out he just wants to stay home and try to drink away the problems. which alcoholism runs in his family and i do not want that to become an issues. he has gotten to the point he wants a divorce because he just does not know how to deal with all of this and i do not think that is logical thinking at all. i want him to stop running away. he has agreed to go to see a therapist so that is a start. i want to be the back bone for us because i do not want a divorce and i don’t want him to be depressed. would it be a good idea if maybe i tried to make emends with my in laws to show him that i am trying to make an effort at this and then the ball will be in there court…is having my husband see a therapist a bad idea…do you think it will make matters worse…and is there anything else you can think of that i can do to benefit from this and to better our marriage?

I need a life coach because I have no one positive in my life to show or help me to achieve my goals.?

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

I am a 29 year old mother of three kids and was married fir eleven years to a drug dealing spouse and though he did that line of work he never paid bills always was out in the streets doing who knows what and recently in July of 2010 he dropped me and my kids off in another state which is my home state to basically fend for ourselves.I have no money no credit and just got a little piece of a job to support myself and kids.I live with my bipolar coke head mom and my dad is a vietnam vet suffering from alcoholism. My husbands parents are here too,but his mom just doesn’t acknowledge myself and my children she won’t even help babysit while I go to work and she is fully capable and alot safer than my own mom.Instead she would rather her son,my husband abandon us even longer to so called get himself together, but he can’t survive without my support so that will be never and on top of that he says he has a new girlfriend that attends law school and he is really into her, this hurts me because I could have been doing that and much more had I not been so gullible for him and doing everything that he said to do….Basically I am on here looking for a life coach to help me get my life back and keep me positive. Please is there anyone out there? I am not looking for handouts just a helping hand and resources.

This decision will change my life…i need help! Do i move with my mom or my grandparents/dad?

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

I lived with my mom up until I was 13 in Hemet and i moved away from her because she was unfit and moved to LA with my grandparents and at the time my dad was a drug addict. So I was alone until I was 14 then i moved back with my mom in hopes she CHANGED but sadly she didn’t. I’m on summer vacation and visiting my grandparents. My dad is now living with my grandparents temporarily. I end up falling in love while in LA with a boy who doesn’t live far from my grandparents. Should I stay in La? or go back to Hemet? I told everyone that I was going back but I secretly want to stay. If i go back to my mom I know what’s going to happen but she needs me, more than I need her. You see, its never been about me. When I lived with my grandparents they ALWAYS took great care of me and never hit me or shouted at me. My mom is a drunk…but she needs help. I’m only 15. Sometimes I feel like the parent. Should I be selfish or selfless? what do i Do!?

Help for my alcoholic father?

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

I need help for my alcoholic father. Because of his alcoholism I was kicked out, he shut off my cell, took my car, he is getting a divorce from my mother but is currently cheating, he put our family in debt for years and caused a lot of trouble for us all. I have tried talking to him about it, I have even taken him to AA meetings and took him to the hospital when he was Detoxing. He refuses to admit he has a problem, he is drunk 24/7 and even drinks and drives, goes to work drunk. He picked me up from work yesterday and was drinking vodka in the car. I need some advice on what to do, is there any numbers I can call so they can take care of it? I know there are CPS, but is there something for adults? He needs medical help, or jail time. What can I do?

Most likely for recovering drug addicts and alcoholics (my mom is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic and I was addicted to pills in 7th grade and I’m fine now so I feel a need to help people who are into drugs and alcohol). Is there a specific name for a therapist who works with recovering drug/pill addicts and alcoholics and maybe sex addicts? Kinda like Dr. Drew. Lol thanks

What can help my mom get better?

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

My mom a few years ago got into a bus accident (she was on the bus) and became very depressed. She got worst and was really really really bad for about 8 months. All she did was sleep not go to work and watch tv on the couch not saying a thing. It was really hard for all of us but then when summer came, she got better but started to drink more and more and more than she already was.

Later, she started to take vodka shots from my dad’s vodka and replace it with water. At one point we got her to go to those AA meeting and she stopped drinking for about 4 months, were then she started to drink again and now she is back and getting worst again. She’s at the point again were she is taking shots from my dad’s liquor and im getting very worried. She always try’s to find a way to stay home, when my dad is working 12 hour shift, she stays home because she knows hes not going to be there.

Also, recently at work, her boss is giving her a hard time when she knows that my mom has a depression and she is still treating her like crap and things like that, her boss gave her a bad revue at her annual revue thing because her boss has been giving her new things to do that she never did before and she’s going really slow and having a hard time understanding it. My mom contacted her union and they are going to be talking to her boss about that but I don’t know if its going to be enough.

I just can’t take it anymore. Its starting to be too much for me. I started to smoke weed a few months ago to help and it did but she’s getting so bad that weed isint doing the same thing anymore and ive seen those shows where they talk about teenagers that are addicted to these hard drugs because of things like that but I don’t want to be one of them. I don’t want to take harder drugs but I don’t want my mom to go to that state where she wasn’t there. I just want everything to get better. THAT’S IT…is it so much to ask for.

(and my dad does know that I smoke pot but he thinks its because its something that I like to do with my friends witch is also true but only as a side thing)
