Haleigh’s step-grandfather arrested

Friday, February 12th, 2010

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office arrested the former step-grandfather of Haleigh Cummings for doctor shopping. Investigators say Hank Thomas Croslin Sr., 41, is charged with withholding information from a practitioner. Hank is the father of the woman, Misty Croslin, who police say is the last person to see Haleigh Cummings. During the investigation of the missing 5-year-old, law enforcement says they received information that Hank was getting prescription drugs fraudulently. Investigators say Hank obtained nearly 300 Oxycodone and Hydrocodone pills from three different physicians between April and May 2009. Hank was arrested at his Satsuma home and is in the Putnam County Jail on a $7500 bond.

The Department of Children and Families became aware of the allegations of drug use by Crystal. DCF requested a random toxicology test of Crystal Sheffield, during the course of their investigation, as they found it relevant …

occurred. I could not represent a client who was not being honest with me, and was taking illegal drugs. To make matters worse, In April 2009, Crystal admitted to me that she had taken unprescribed pain medication. Further, her mother, Marie Griffis, reported to me that Crystal had stolen her step-fathers pain medication after he had surgery in April 2009. I was extremely concerned over my clients drug use. Crystal assured me that it was not an addiction, and that it had only taken a few …
