My mom and I have taken temporary custody of my brothers 4 kids. The 3 yr old is going to daycare telling the staff her mom is dead and crying her eyes out. How do we convince her not to tell the staff this? We assume this is how she is copeing with a drug addicted alcoholic “mother” who abandoned them but she can’t go on saying this!

okay so, my dad does coke, and takes vicodin like crazy. he has done coke and vicodin for years. and he actually bottomed out last yr. he stole 160$ from me , went out on a coke binge, almost commited suicide and ended up in rehab for about 2 weeks. since then, i thought everything was okay, til i recently found out my dad still does coke. i kinda figured he did. 2 weeks isnt long enough in rehab i dont think. not for the amount of time he has done coke. anyways, im very worried about him. my mom said she thinks he took off for the night and no one knows where he went. i tried calling him this morning and he didnt answer, which is what he did when he went on his last coke binge. im very worried because my mom left him yesterday because of the partying and now i think he might do something stupid. please anyone help me. how can i deal with this? theres no use saying anything to him i just need to know how to deal with this. i just had my first child! he is a new grandfather! please help

Im 39, my dad was an alcoholic, but is now dead, mom has issues,?

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

and recently threatened to call cps when I had gone on an overnight business trip, I have 19 and 17 yr old daughters and an 11 yr son, I was gone for about 30 hours total. Mother held son hostage and told me she would see me in court, that single mothers do not do this sort of thing, prior to business trip I had only talked to my mother once that was on xmas eve in the past 2.5 years since my seperation with husband.
It was depressing to be around mom and her husband, they treat ea awful. I truly loved my husband, but drugs took over and we had to seperate. My mom told me how could I let this happen. It was not me who chose the drugs and I feel I have done nothing but she contines to try to savatage me. I feel I should make peace for myself but it may just make matters worse. Need advice.
By the way, I am an only child, have no family besides aunt and mother. I feel I am doing much better and that my mom is looking for something to hurt me with. My only offense was loving someone who chose drugs over family. it was devistating, who is she to judge me when she lives such an ugly lonely life.

If you’re mom dies in a car accident, how are you notified (Dad is dead)…?

Friday, December 10th, 2010

I am writing a book where my 17-year-old character’s mom dies on the way back from rehab by getting in a head on collision. How is the daughter notified? The mom dies at 5 AM, so when and how is the daughter notified? A phone call from a nurse or police officer? Does someone come to her house?

What was the movie where a doll girl lived with her dead dad who OD’d on heroin? Autistic neigbor/farm setting?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

I think the girl had a fascination with dolls and this movie took place in a farm like setting (I think the cover of the movie had a picture of the house with sunflowers in the front part of the farm). Her parents where heavy drinkers and used heroin. I remember her mom died in bed and the daughter and her dad lit the bed on fire and both of them didn’t seem very affected by it. The daughter would roam around the house all day while her father would sit in a chair in the middle of the living room and shoot heroin. After shooting he is incapacitated and unresponsive for hours on end. He would tell the daughter before each heroin injection that he was “going on vacation”. The daughter would walk around the house/farm with some doll. She makes friends with a kid neighbor (male) who wheres a space helmet (I could be wrong about that) has no friends and is retarded in some way. He lives with his crazy mother who screams for him to get his attention. The daughter hangs out with this kid pretty often and one day he causes a bus full of people to flip subsequently killing them all (I think a big airplane may have been involved). One day the father tells the daughter that he’s “going on vacation” and ends up overdosing and dying in the same position he always is when he’s passed out. The daughter comes back to the house one night and can’t get her dad to wake up. You know that she knows he’s dead but she plays it off like he’s “vacationing”. She keeps him around, talks with him and feeds him (or at least tries) until he gets so bloated with decomposition fumes that he starts “farting” as the daughter would call it. Because “he would not stop farting” she dragged him outside with the help of the retarded kid neighbor. She ends up stripping her father’s skin off and stuffing the skin with cotton like a doll. She keeps him propped up at a dining room table and throws tea parties with the retarded kid who ends up marrying the daughter girl. They just live with the dead, stuffed father and some dolls.

Can the divorced mother of a dead adult child, refuse to pay any of the funeral costs incurred by the boys dad

Friday, May 14th, 2010

My oldest son, Camron, died of a drug overdose almost six years ago. I found his body and at the time I was addicted to cocaine. I am a bisexual man, as a result of being raped as a child. I am 24 years into my second marriage. My ex-wife, the mother of our dead son, divorced me when Camron was 5 because I was addicted to cocaine and was having sex with men. She knew I was bisexual and chose to marry me because she was in love with me. But during and after the divoece she vowed take revenge by telling the boys that I was a fucked up queer, liar and drug addict, and she told Camron that he was just like me and that she didn’t like him but loved his brother more. And Camron was like me…he loved me… As part of her revenge, she refused to help pay any of Camrons funeral costs. Today she still hates me, my family, and my freinds, who helped by giving me $14,000.00 to bury him. I am thinking about suing her to pay back half the money to the people who gave it…

2 Year Old Boy Is Dead After drunk mom Passed-Out and Crushes him

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

INDIANAPOLIS — A 2-year-old boy was pronounced dead after he was found beneath his passed-out mother — who investigators say admitted she’d been drinking — in an Indianapolis motel room early Wednesday, according to police. Latasha McMorris’ boyfriend found the two on the floor of an EconoLodge motel room on North Shadeland Avenue and, noticing that the boy wasn’t breathing, called 911 at about 12:30 am, police said. The boy, Sheldon Bartley Jr., was taken to Community East Hospital.

Mother charged in toddler death had troubled history

Jeremy Brilliant/Eyewitness News

Indianapolis – A toddler was found dead in a motel and now his mother is being charged in his death. It’s not the first time LaTasha McMorris, 24, has been in trouble for a crime involving alcohol and her children.

Last summer, a judge convicted her of neglect of a dependent. In fact, she was on probation when officers arrested her early Wednesday morning.

On July 19th, 2007, neighbors called police to report two children running loose in the street in the 100 block of Bosart Avenue. Their mother, witnesses said, was clearly under the influence of alcohol. McMorris was arrested for felony neglect of a dependant and public intoxication.

imageAccording to court documents, LaTasha was so drunk she fell to the ground while talking to a police officer.  Her blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.

McMorris pleaded guilty and in October was sentenced to one year probation. In the four months since the conviction, she violated the terms of probation at least twice by not getting a job, not completing 24 hours of community service and failing a sobriety test.

McMorris told a probation officer she “has had a drinking problem and never stopped drinking. She further stated that she has been drinking for ten years and everyone in her immediate family has a problem drinking.” In the past two months, police arrested McMorris on four separate occasions for public intoxication: twice in December and twice in January.

After the October conviction, her children, two-year-old Sheldon Bartley and a six-year-old daughter, were both placed in the custody of their grandparents. Who took care of them after that is unclear. According to a statement from Child Services:  “DCS will conduct a complete and intensive review to verify all information and facts.”

How come after 3 prior DWI convictions illegal was not deported now mother pregnant daughter dead not deported?

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

How come after 3 prior DWI convictions this illegal was not deported now mother and her pregnant daughter lay dead and why wasn’t the illegal deported ?
CONROE — A 27-year-old illegal immigrant with mulitple DWI convictions pleaded guilty this morning to felony murder charges in the death of a mother and daughter in a car accident more than a year ago.

Ignacio Gomez-Gutierrez, of Houston, through an interpreter, also pleaded guilty to two counts of failure to stop and render aid.

The case being heard in Montgomery County’s 9th District Court is the first felony DWI murder case in the county, prosecutors said.

Gomez-Gutierrez is accused of driving with a blood-alcohol content that was three times the legal limit when he plowed into the rear of a car on U.S. 59 near the entrance to Kingwood on March 25, 2007.

The car’s occupants, Maria Ortiz, 49, and her daughter Vaness, 18, who was five months pregnant, were killed instantly.

Gomez-Gutierrez fled from his disabled vehicle after the wreck, investigators said.

With Gomez-Gutierrez facing his fourth drunken driving charge, prosecutors elected to upgrade charges to felony murder instead of second-degree felony intoxicated manslaughter.

State law enables prosecutors to pursue the more serious charge because Gomez-Gutierrez caused a death while committing a felony crime.

Gomez-Gutierrez served time for three prior DWI convictions in 2002, 2004 and 2005 but authorities did not deport him to Mexico.

In 2005, Gomez-Gutierrez was stopped for running a stop sign in Harris County. Officers said that he had a strong alcohol odor and failed a field sobriety test.

He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to a year in county jail. He was released in six months, records showed.

A Montgomery County jury will decide Gomez-Gutierrez’s punishment in the latest case, or he could agree to a plea deal. Opening statements will resume this afternoon.

Gomez-Gutierrez faces up to 99 years in prison on the murder charges and up to five years in prison or a year in jail on the failure to stop and render aid charges.
