Hes 19 years old, I think hes been on it since he was 15, hes only confessed it to me once which was back in Feb, when he was drunk. Hes lost tons of weight this year, he had some kind of seizure after taking a lot of it last summer, I asked him then if he was on it and he denied it, later admitting it in Feb. I’ve asked my doctor and he told me about a centre for addicts. But the thing is I don’t think he really wants to get off it, he has NO will power and im pretty sure he has a drinking problem too but at the moment im more worried about the drug use. I’m scared to mention it to him as he has a bad temper and im worried he’ll hit me. I hate him for his behaviour. He is a liar, a theif, rude, selfish, very sexist. Our mother has MS and our Dad has stress related cholesterol issues which my lil bro has made worse since turning into a troublesome teen, but at the end of the day hes my little bro and he needs help.
I should have said, I live in England, the rules are different here, kids never get done for drugs unless they intend to supply them or if they actively stood outside a police station waving a little bag of white powder and and yell “oi! c****s!” thru the door even then they’d prob jus get a £75 fine. but yeh i think you’re right, he does need to be caught

Will it die, miscarriage? Be mentally retarded? What will be the outcome? I’m not doing any of these activities, nor am I pregnant. This is completely hypothetical and from a medical standpoint.

I have an alcoholic, gambling and drug addict mother. (Who is in denial and says that everyone does it… And refuses to admit she has a problem) Anyway, every day she does it in front of me…Snorts it right in front of me… Licks it. She says that no one cares and that she can do whatever she wants when I ask her to stop. I’ve asked her to at least stop doing it when I am around (which is all day basically) and she says don’t watch me or go in the other room and that ‘she can do whatever she wants’. Even though I was in that room first! Even when I go in the other room, I still can hear her do it. It makes me so depressed. She stays up ALL NIGHT doing it and when she falls asleep she leaves it out… And I SEE it. Needless to say, I tried it… Just to see what it’s like…Never would do it again.

We (everyday) get into heated arguments. I already know everyone outside hears us since the walls are like paper thin. I’m SO embarrassed to go outside because of this.So I don’t, I stay in.. And she screams when she yells. She’s always calling me mean names. She even through scissors and knife on me… She brings up my weight and school, how I can’t go to school like a normal kid.( Have trouble with school) And all these MEAN things which makes me retaliate by calling her names and bringing up her problems..

Am I wrong for calling her names when she does this to me? What should I do? I’m just so depressed!

I’m doing a Healthy Living project for my Planning 10 class and was wondering what the differences were. I would also like to know for my own personal interest seeing as my mother is a recovering addict of a drug addiction to Crack Cociane.

Any kind of drugs, really. Forget rehab. Her own mother says, it’s for quitters. When we hung out she didn’t do these things. I go away for a week, come home and she’s this monster. Her mother and older sister have brought her down.

Today i did a lot of cocaine, and my mother knew as soon as she saw me that I was planning on getting drugs (she can tell by now).She doesnt know what drugs, but she just ‘knows’ when im going to do it. She left me a really sad message on my cel. phone saying simply that i cant fool her;then she called me and basically told me that she knows what im doing,etcetera. she didnt yell at me or anything, she was just sad.worried.despair has a tight grip on her heart. apologizing would be stupid and meaningless.
i really dont know what to tell her when i see her.
anyone with a similar experience?i need insight.

Please do not insult my intelligence by saying that they do not. I would like to hear from a law enforcement official or from a lawyer/judge what it is about marijuana that makes it so much worse than heroine, EX, cocaine, crack, etc.

I don’t drink, no other drugs, just pot that I get from my family. I don’t harm anyone and no one gets hurt. I have no problems with my life.
My father does cocaine because drug tests don’t pick it up on urine samples. He also abuses alcohol, has saught both drug and alcohol treatment numerous times, and will likely die when his kidney/liver explode from being pushed to the brink for the last 40 years. His alcohol drove him to physically abuse my mother, mentally abuse me, and use his influence to create theatrical lies about me to the rest of my family in order to cut me out of the will; all because I would not accept his habits, and he saw it as a challenge.

I will restate the question: Why do feds grab up all the marijuana but leave the harder drugs on the streets?

As a “pothead” I am downright outraged at all these commercials about how terrible smoking cigarettes is, about how “this is your brain on drugs”, and all this other garbage… as if I needed a reminder of truly “bad influence” that federal law enforcement simply does not seem to grasp, and I am not alone.

i hate to nag on cops though because they just do what they are told, but feds like the DEA dont answer to dirtballs like that.
Oh, really? You’re some expert, right? I already informed you of my abusive father. The life or death situations I was in as a child gave my PTSD. In many ways I was a soldier before I could even learn to formulate thoughts properly. Instead of taking some medication that will put me into a coma or kill me, I have chosen to smoke marijuana. In the long term it is also much cheaper. I have had no anxiety, and depression is much better than it was many years ago… but, with all due respect, I do not expect you to understand that in your own shoes.

i understand cocaine and how a person uses that, but i don’t understand crack cocaine and how a person uses it. like what they use, etc…. i need infomation asap….a concerned mother.

My 17-year-old gay friend is living with his mom who just got out of jail. She is a drug addict who smokes crack daily and is financially supported by her own mother.

Anyways, the 17-year-old’s blood test was positive for cocaine and marijuana.

This is the 3rd time CPS was called to his house.

Will he go to jail or be put in foster home for testing positive to cocaine?

He turns 18 in 10 months.

he was living in our house for a while, and I had to see so many horrible things, and I had a nervous breakdown, and he left for his moms house in ohio to “get better”.
I’ve had to see him naked (hes 50, im 16) and high and drunk, and he has just mentally disturbed me so much.
He just came back today, and he already lied, and got f***** up. My mom was telling me how she was going to bring him to a hotel because she doesn’t want to go through the crap anymore.

I’m really upset with the fact that she would even invite him back into the house after what he did to me, her daughter.
Now theyre sitting in a parking lot “talking”. Which mean,s he’s probably not going to a hotel, and probably coming back to my house.

What should I tell my mom if he comes back? How do I even act?

I know a girl that is smoking crack cocaine. She also breast feeds her baby. I didn’t understand why the baby was always crying when she was away from the mom. Today I found out she is doing drugs. The baby is 10 months old. If the baby does not breast feed from the mother, how lond will it take the baby from not being addicted, assuming the baby is.
I have reported this to the child abuse hotline. My daughter is babysitting the child and the baby is in my house. I just hope the CPS comes here before the mother decides to pick up the child.

My 6 year old daughter is stuck with her mother who is addicted to crack. My daughter isnt being taken care of properly, bathed, fed or anything else. My ex wifes mother, father, brother, 15 year old daughter and 21 year old son have all called the police and DCS for her addiction, child neglect and her trying to steal etc. I pay $140 a week for child support and the ex doesnt work. My daughter sees none of this money and not only do I not get to see her, but I also dont get to talk to her because my ex is homeless with my daughter and has no phone. I have been in court for 3 months with this and still havent gotten anything accomplished. I cant complain about my attorney because he is doing everything possible and I have spent thousands of dollars. She has done nothing the judge has ordered and hasnt even gotten an attorney. I work everyday and have a good stable job and Im not on drugs. I am out of ideas other than doing something that I will be in jail for. Any ideas on what to do?

I’ve heard of “crack addicted” babies born of mothers who used the drug. But I thought cocaine did not cause an actual physical addiction. I didn’t think abruptly stopping it’s use would cause physical withdrawel. I know exhaustion results when the drug is abruptly withdrawn following many days/nights of continuous use, but I’m confused about babies born “addicted”. Someone set me straight, please.
The person who suggested google was right. It is not physically addictive, does not produce acute withdrawel. Symptoms of abrupt cessation are opposite those produced by the drug. Abruptly stopping cocaine results in behaviors: lethargy, increased appetite, and depression, to name a few. But no withdrawel occurs. Addiction is strictly psychological!!
