I really want to help a friend of mine who is an alcohol addict. I think a big factor of what made her an addict was the fact that she grew up in a home wherein one of her parents (her dad) also drinks alcohol profusely. Her mom is almost always away, so my friend has always been left on her own to fend for herself. I feel bad that she has a family like that. She’s always spending nights sleeping over at my house, and she’s more like a sister to me now, so I really want to help her.

I seen this question on a talk show yesterday about a mom who adopted 6 children who were born drug or alcohol addicted ,she is trying to pass a law that these moms should be prosecuted NOT just DCF involved . do you agree? I think its child endangerment and they should be prosecuted I think smoking cigarettes also.

Im 15, she knows i drink. I drink like every weekend (she doesn’t know that part.) and she has boughten my like smirnoff ice and the big vex bottle. But, she thinks that summers over she shouldn’t be buying me this stuff, and i just dont see why she wont buy it for me.,
like she has before and now she wont…? i just dont understand it. :S

my friend told me one of her friends that were there told her they spiked the sodas with alcohol
im pissed off at my sister and the people who brought the soda.
should i tell my mom?
i dropped “hints” to let my sister know i know and she thinks i do but i didn’t say it flat out “i know”

obviously people do this all the time and they may just be having fun but that s*it doesn’t fly with me, she knows better then that. we just weren’t brought up that way and idk wtf she was thinking
my parents were home but i was at a track meet so i didn’t get home til 11.
i feel like i should say something but she is my sister and were pretty close.

I’m 17 years old and a high school student. My mom and dad are both divorced and me and my sister live with my dad. My mom lives about 30 minutes away from us and we go and visit her pretty often, since she’s always alone and we just like seeing her. But she has a serious alcohol problem, and sometimes she’ll get seriously drunk and stay like that for a week or so and then get normal again, and shed do her best to deny ever drinking. I NEVER want to see her while she’s like that, but it happens all the time, shes been doing this for many years, which led to the eventual divorce in the first place. I’m just sick and tired of looking forward to doing something with her, and then the next day she gets all bad again. She wants us to see her as much as possible each week, but I’m starting to think its somehow affecting her problem. What should I do about this?

My mom says pouring alcohol on cotton balls and rubbing it on my face will clear up my acne. Will it?
If it won’t what are some things that will?

Basically, every weekend my mom lets me drink alcohol or beer (with her) and she’s totally fine with it. Do you think it’s okay? I’m 14 btw..:S
BTW she’s from Europe, Germany, and the legal age is 14. Do you think that’s why she lets me drink?

I’m 17 years old and I like to have Girl’s Night every once in a while with my close girl friends. We don’t drink all the time, but most of the time we do, and instead of trying to go through a source or steal one of our parent’s alcohol, I was wondering how I approach my mom and ask her to buy alcohol for us. When we party we stay in one place and all stay the night, no driving, so I think we’re being pretty safe about it. My mom usually brings my younger sister, who is 15, to her boyfriend’s house and gets drunk with her sometimes when I’m not home. She always says how I’m the good child and I don’t do that kind of stuff, but I would rather be straight up with her and let her know that i drink, and have her know exactly what I’m drinking. My mom knows all my friends, most of us have been friends since grade school, and my friends and I would be perfectly fine staying at my house to drink if it made my mom feel better, and all my friends said they would help pitch in for the alcohol. I just am not sure how I should go about asking her to do this.

i really dont kno what to do anymore. see my mom has a drinking problem for about as long as i can remember. i recall alot of times when i was little when she would get mad at me for the stupidest things like not closing the door, not finishing my juice, entering the room, telling her i was sleepy, ect. i mean she would try to watch movies or listen to music and we would talk and make jokes. things would be ok. until the tequila, or wine would have an effect on her. then she would get mes at me or i would get mad at her for drinking and she would tell me to leave her alone. i would. but ever since about 3 years ago her drinking has gotten worse. she calls me a b*tch she starts cussing me out. and when shes sober i try to explain to her that what she is doing is wrong and that she needs help. she gets sad and then cries and says “im sorry…i do need help. i promise i will stop drinking” and she never does. when i know she has alcohol i come downstairs to check up on her or my 4 year old sister comes upstairs crying cuz she thinks moms dead. i come downstairs and shes knocked out cold on the table. and i have to take care of my sister.and then in the morning i cant go to school because my moms still knocked out and i cant leave my sister by herself. things have just gotten real bad i mean on thanksgiving my mom got drunk and we couldn’t go to my grandparents house for thanksgiving. so we stayed home. my mom kept going to bother me about the stupidest things like saying im tired or where is the f*ckin remote. stupid things like that i kept telling her to leave me alone that i was sleepy( it was 4:00 am) and she wouldn’t leave me alone so i locked my door and she got violent. she slammed and kicked the door and she started cussing at me tellin me b*tch open the motherf*ckin door before i get in there and beat the sh*tt outta you and she went to go get the hammer she started chopping at my door and broke the handle she was drunk and i didnt know what she was capable of i thought she might have killed me . i started crying and telling her to leave me alone to stop and she said “what u gunna do call the cops? call them im not scared of those motherf*ckers! call them!”and the police came came three times(the neighbors called) that night was one of the worst and this isnt the first time something like this happens. im angry and sad because there’s not a damn thing i can do about it. i dont know what to do anymore PLS HELPPPPP!!!!!!

oh. and by the way im 13.

my mom bought some alcohol last night and left it next to my bed. i left the room to take a shower and came back to find the bottle knocked over and alcohol all over the floor. turns out my puppy (whos a little over a month old) knocked it over. im not sure if he drank any but i cleaned it up and then he went over and licked the towel. whats the worse case scenario?

Last weekend my ex let my daughter sample a whine cooler. She is supposed to have supervised visitation, but took my daughter unsupervised to another state and let her try alcohol. My daughter said it was only one drink. But the mother got a DUI last year, and is supposed to be supervised on all her visits. Am I over reacting? What would you do?

Even if they’re not abusive. They are drunk sometimes and ruining their health. And drinking makes them moody or sleepy and not make any sense.
And you feel bad and don’t talk about your mom’s prob, b/c that’s like betraying her and she loves you.
It’s after the fact, and they’re still drinking.

HELP

ok so i am 18 and a senior, my mom found a handle of alcohol in my closet. its not like i have a problem, its just so that i dont have to buy it from other people and can have it at my own convenience. i drink like 1 night (on the weekends) i have explained to her that most high school students do this and that i am not an alcoholic…how do i get my handle back from her??!?! (she hid it) i told her i was going to get it tomorrow so she might take it in the car with her to work…i dont know though! but how should i get it back?

I know shes gonna be pissed no matter what i just need something to ease the tension, I went out to a dance and got really drunk my dad came and picked me up 10 minutes later. I woke up from my sleep with a hangover and my mom looked mad because this wasnt the first time. :(

My husbands ex is quite the drama queen.
Over the course of our relationship she has created a drama for each of the 4 kids.
She came to our house at 2:30 am once because she thought the oldest boy had called her for help– he didn’t — he was fast asleep.

She screamed over the fact that the middle brother said “I’m gonna drown you in the pool” to his younger brother- kids do that stuff all the time.

The youngest kids was going through a “making faces” phase and she was convinced he was having grand mall seizures.

Recently she accused the oldest girl (14) of stealing tequilla.
Any 14 yr old who tries tequila isn’t gonna drink it for long…yuck.

The kids’ mom is never home – she’s off with her new BF.
Who the kids don’t like… the daughter is the most outspoken about
this. What are the odds that the girl would be blamed for alcohol stealing with mom threatening to send her to re-hab.
We don’t even know for sure that it was the girl.
There are lots of kids coming and going from the house and the oldest boy is 16… boys will be boys too you know.

Given the dramatic history of this woman– it all seems a little sketchy to me.

What are some parents thought on this?
Momsey- you sound a bit uptight– I’ve been a teacher for twenty years… I ALWAYS here kids say they are gonna kill so and so… it’s all talk.

Abut yeah– it never occured to me that a 14 yr old would develop a liking for hard liquor especially tequila.
