what are some of the longtime effects of illegal drugs?

my mom had to go to the hospital late last night because she’s stupid and won’t take care of herself amd won’t go to the dr. unless she thinks she’s dying which led my little sister having to spend the night over at my house….
A long time ago, my mom was addicted to drugs such as pot and meth and other illegals… and this morning when I saw her again, she said they told her she has a tumor in her leg and possibly cancer in her throat…..
could those be from some drugs she consumed a couple years back? she hasn’t been on them for 2-3 years but I know they’re bad for anyone…. I just don’t want her graduation present for me to be death or something like it… I’m only graduating in less than a month from high school…
It’s possible, but not likely. The most reasonable explanation is that she does not take care of her health. Marijuana actually REDUCES the size of tumors, so it definitely did not cause it. Also, remember, all the drugs they are going to pump her with at the hospital (even though they are legal, DRUGS ARE DRUGS) are going to have side effects as well.
Yes the results your mom is having could very well be from taking those drugs. Its great she has quited for a few years now but it depends how long she did it for. If she did drugs for a long time, then her medical conditions are a result from her drug abuse. I know the cancer is from your mom smoking marijuana. The tumor im not so sure on.
Yes,it could have,people are more likely to still have cancer from smoking anything within a 5 year ratius of quitting.
People arent usually cancer free when they quit untill the 10 years free.
Each drug has different side effect but pot has no known long term side effects. I have never research meth but it might.
I think you are overly worried. Wait till the docs figure out what it is and what they can do. It is likely not a big deal and they can take care of it. Is it cause by drug use…probably not.
Smoking anything can give you throat cancer espicaly ice/meth. as for the tumour in the leg not shure that the drugs did that but they can have some bad side efects go to http://illegaldrugsinfo.com and you might find more there.
The tumor in her leg didn’t come from drugs. And it’s not life threatening if she gets it taken care of. You can lose your teeth, weaken your heart, make yourself insane, give yourself lung cancer from smoking things, but cancer in an odd area like the leg is not from drugs. The throat cancer could potentially be from smoking drugs, but more likely it is ciggarettes. But if your mom has cancer in more than one area, the cause is likely something else. She will probably have to undergo many tests before they figure out what is wrong with her.

There is no proof that any of these drugs cause cancer.
Throat cancer could be from smoking… But she would have had to have been a CHRONIC marijuana smoker for it to cause cancer. It’s more likely to be caused by cigarette smoke where there are literally thousands of toxins added to them such as the chemicals in the rings in the paper to allow a more even burn.
Man-made drugs like meth have severe consequences. I could see how smoking meth could cause cancer. Putting that many harmful chemicals into your body has to cause some sort of long-term problems…

Please don’t just ignorantly lump all illegal drugs into a single, definable category.
Meth is THE WORST, most destructive drug there is. It is not a drug, it is a dangerous, toxic chemical. That being said, it’s doubtful that even a drug that horrible would cause those tumors, but I would not think it impossible.
NO OTHER DRUG compares to meth as far as destructiveness – not even heroin – and I doubt your mom did heroin. If she did meth, I guarantee she smoked cigarettes, right? Consider a known cancer causer like that first, since cigs are directly connected to cancer, and even daily marijuana smoking for 30 years has never been linked to cancer.
Unfortunately, your mom lived her whole adult life so unhealthily that probably no one could ever learn the cause.
ok so pretty much marijuana doesnt come feature side effects but all other drugs such as meth, cocaine, heroine can become a diiferent example.
