Your mom would be proud if you STOPPED drinking alchohol. Think of it this way…I think what your mom meant was never give up on being the best you can be or providing the best life for your self. Not giving up would be stopping the alchohol because you would be fighter for a healthier, better YOU!

I don’t know too many mom’s that would be proud that their child is an alcoholic. Then again, most mom’s wouldn’t give up on their child either – even if they were an alcoholic. Unfortunately you are on your own and cannot rely upon your late mom’s help. As others have mentioned you should really quit drinking for yourself. There are a number of methods out there now that can help you quit. Alcoholics Anonymous is not the only option anymore. Research some of these:
*Hypnosis
*Kudzu – a vine that grows in the southern part of the U.S.
*Drugs – quite a few new drugs (Topomax, Vivitrol) out now that help limit cravings.
*AA – Alcoholics Anonymous
