Isn’t there something that can be done to keep a mother from her children that is legally binding and quick to
August 27th, 2010process? My son works offshore gone 3 weeks home 1 week, his soon to be ex-wife is a drug addict, smoke crack, tricks for drugs, lies, steals, abandons her children weeks at a time then decides she wants to be mother for a day gets they’re hopes up then lets them down every time. Besides the fact that she has that staph infection all over her body. Help!!??
Social services have been in & out of this situation to no avail! We even have a lawyer who got us an emergency court hearing—for December 4th. What an emergency!
The judge will not make a decision without both parents being present. Or so she says. I’ve seen it happen faster in less serious cases. Justice!
Both of her parents are gone. Her grandmother raised her and her 6 brothers and sisters.
Call social services and tell them all that.
Where do her parents fit in to all this? Are they making things worse or can they help the situation? I hope something gets straightened out soon for the sake of the children.
What does your son say about it? He’s bound to know something is wrong..
Your attorney can help you apply for emergency temporary custody of the kids.
Most states allow for a temporary restraining order (TRO), but that will only be granted in extreme situations, at a judge’s discretion, and will have to eventually be backed up with a final court ruling. In other words, you either need a lawyer, or you need to work with a government organization (like social services) that can navigate the legal system. I would imagine that what you’re seeking – denying a parent access to her child – is extremely difficult.
