Bad experience with parents addicted to drugs, anybody?

I’m doing a media short film about a person who’s mother is addicted to drugs and how it affects him/her mentally. Would anyone care to elaborate on their experiences, whether you were the user or someone else? Anything is appreciated, thanks :)
I was addicted to drugs as a teenager. Feel free to email me if you would like me to elaborate.
My father was a pretty heavy drug user in my younger years. He stole earrings my grandparents sent me from El Salvador and sold them for drugs, when my mom found them she flushed the drugs and he beat her. He just wasn’t a good person. Seeing all that just taught me what NOT to do. I have never touched a drug in my life.. not even weed. I just don’t see the point.

in this song, the 2nd verse describes a young man who dropped out of school to support his family.. he started to sell drugs and his mom became addicted to them.. and before you know it the whole family started to tear apart..
Well my real mom is dead from it. She’s been dead for about 6 years. All I can say is that it was sad. I was born drunk and high, and eventually taken from her. I saw her from time to time, but she was often messed up on holidays. Her death was painful. Life support isn’t pretty like on TV, her chest rose every 5 seconds violently. I had told the nurses not to pull the plug before seeing her. I had to get drunk to have the guts to go see her, and was told my youngest aunt said to pull the plug. I never did give permission, but she died later that night. I had to go tell my little sister she died.
my husbands cousin was about 8 when she saw her mum lying in a bath of bloody water and slit wrists cos of her heroin addiction, her mum survived but till this day shes still on drugs
unfortunately that 8 year old is now 26, has 3 kids to 3 different guys, has been on drugs since 15, very messed up,, her eldest daughter is 10 and shes living in a foster home as she was a very unfit mother doin drugs round her and neglecting her
her 2 younger kids she seems to want them, but shes on n off methadone and trying to get clean
she looks disgusting, her skin is terrible, has sores all around her mouth, shes rake thin,, and when she talks to u it looks like her eyes r about to pop out,, scary stuff
