hello everyone, i have a question. my soon to be mother in-law has a home in west covina,ca and unfortunatly her husband and father of her children is addicted to drugs and she can’t afford her home anymore. she must sell it and i want to know if there is anyway i can help her or any companys that will help. unfortunatly she is unemployeed because she has been depending on this man for so long and she cant get a loan. i saw something on the TyraBanks show about helping “homeless” people . i really don’t want the home to go but if theres a way someone can help them please let me know! thank you!

Its a boring game and im not the one addicted, but my mom is, and now she spends more time playing it then with me, im not someone who needs a mom wherever i go, but i just want to be able to talk to her

I work in a hospital and a crack addicted mom is happy b/c her premature baby weighed 3lb 13oz at birth. She was overjoyed when talking to one of her family members and stated “He weighs 3 pounds, 19 ounces.” Should I have stepped in and told her that the baby is actually 4lbs, 3oz? I need help.

My mom is 50 years old heavy chain-smoking woman. She is on her 3 packs a day habit with no intense to quit or cut it.
She is smoking for about 25 years, and she is always with a ciggie in her mouth smoking like a chimney and every day she smokes more and more. She also likes to smoke two cigs at once saying that she really needs to smoke more to feel good. In a recent years she started to smoke cigars on a daily purpose, she is really deeply inhaling them and says that she likes the big smoke that fills her inside. But she changed a lot. She looks older than she is, she got wrinkles too early, she has a yellow tar stained teeth and very bad breath, she is always coughing a lot and constantly out of breath, sometimes i noticed that she is feeling dizzy, but she says she is ok and etc.
So i just want to know does someone also have a mother who is heavy chain-smoker like mine?

A friend of mine is contemplating taking custody of her newborn grandson who was born to a heroine addicted mother. I have extensive experience with heroine addicted adults and few if any, ever get off methadone. What are the short term and long term implications of caring for a methadone baby? Should the grandmother have access to Narcan?

I have a friend who are the grandparents of two children, their parents are drug addicts and have adopted the children out to some family friends. This lady (I use this lightly) is now after almost 2 years, saying that she no longer wants her 9 year old daughter but wants to keep her 3 year old brother. Does anyone know if there is something legally that these grandparents can do. If not can the adopted mother turn and put the 9 year old up for adoption to someone else? I would love to take this beautiful girl into our family of 4 and her little brother too…is this possible? Do the grandparents or parents have any legal recourse?

She tapes all that, so she can watch it in the evening! WTF?!? Why is my mom so addicted to that stuff??? What is so addicting??? I don’t get it!

Ok for all my life my mother has been addicted to something. It is always something. First it was drinking, than pills, than drinking again on top of the pills the same time, than now it’s smoking with pills. Once she takes a step forward she takes 100 steps back. She can never just stay sober from things. Oh I almost forgot she has seizures, and she still does this. (spell check) I’m only 16 years old. I don’t know how to deal with all this at once. I can’t go to anyone and talk about this cuz I don’t want to get freakin yelled at. My mother hates when you address her weaknesses to people. Not even my dad, she hates me talking to him but anyway yeah that’s why I need some advice. I don’t know what to do or how to feel. Sometimes I hate her, but sometimes I feel sorry for her, than I love her then I hate her again then I just hate myself for dealing with everything like I am, and being so selfish for not trying to understand why she does what she does. Ugh I have no clue please someone help me put all this together.

She always hangs out with the neighbor and recently has started drinking beer. She is the only parent and constantly forgets to feed and take care of my 5 and 8 year old brother. She is always on the computer and she is always mad. She always critcizes my boyfriend and always gets after me for dating him and she never is with us and constantly goes out to eat in restaurants and goes clubbing while we are home hungry. What can I do? She is the type that doesn’t listen and gets angry fast.

Okay. My friend is a nanny for this wealthy family. The stay at home mom is addicted to methadone and pain killers. The dad is pretty much ignoring it. The children are young and I feel they are in danger, she had a small car accident with one of them in the car(second accident in a month). She quit or lost her job because of the drugs she cant look normal. Any website where she can anonymously ask advice from social services?
