Addiction is genetic, so it’s not caused by in-utero development alone. Many doctors tell women they can drink very moderately when pregnant.

The binging thing is compulsive, not neccessarily an addiction. I think you need to talk to a psychologist about your emotional state to get to the bottom of compulsions.

No, it is not because your mother drank some wine while she is pregnant.

But, does anyone else in your family have an addictive personality? These can be alcoholism, eating disorders, drug use, etc.

Addiction is part genetic.

No, your mother’s behavior during her pregnancy with you would not affect you in this way. It sounds like, however, that your mom *may* be an alcoholic, considering she could not refrain from drinking during her pregnancy (although a glass of wine every once in a while for even a pregnant woman is not unhealthy), and THAT could cause you to have an addiction problem, if the issue were genetic.
