I am the foster mother and would like to know what is the likelihood the friend can get the baby back?

   there are too many variables to answer your question. You could contact the county though, and offer to re-foster the child.

   Why don’t you ask the agency that gave you the baby…

   I wouldn’t think the friend could get the baby back at all, unless by fostering and it would have to be with very good reasons if the child is already placed elsewhere. The mother would have a good chance, the courts usually side with the mother.

   Poor baby whats the best thing for the baby thats what i would be thinking about – poor little darling – not who can have the baby hopefully never ever the drug addict mother

   My sister’s friend was in a really bad situation and ended up getting her daughter taken by the County. Now my sister is the Foster Mother. I don’t think they would put the child through that unless maybe it was a grandparent or something. Because as far as I know the Foster Mother has complete guardianship unless the parent turns her act around (and it takes a lot to do it). There is a lot of paperwork involved as well. At this point I think it’s either you or the parents. Good luck with everything!

   A family member migh be able to, or the mother if she sorts her self out.
   My aunty is a foster parent and 5 of the six kids have been returnedto there mothers (or 1 of them went to the grand mother) because they went to drug rehab, and in some situations left there boyfriends.
   But it really depends on the circumstances
