Gestational Diabetes – A Guide For Pregnant Moms

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Gestational diabetes is something that is not to be overlooked by pregnant mothers. This type of diabetes occurs during pregnancy to women who have never been diagnosed with diabetes before.

The actual cause of gestational diabetes is still unknown, although there is a strong possibility that the hormones responsible in the development of the placenta have something to do with it.

The Symptoms

If you are looking for tell-tale signs to know if you do have gestational diabetes, you may only get frustrated. The usual signs of diabetes such as increased thirst, increased urination and fatigue may be confused with the normal signs of pregnancy.

Test for Diabetes

While not every expecting mother is diagnosed with gestational diabetes, pregnant women are nonetheless advised to undergo certain tests (usually on the 5th month of their pregnancy) to determine whether or not they have gestational diabetes. One of these tests is the oral glucose tolerance test in which you will be made to drink a glass of glucose solution. After an hour you will undergo a blood test to measure the levels of sugar in your blood.

The complications

It has to be emphasized that this form of diabetes can hurt both you and the baby. Although it does not cause birth defects as it usually occurs after the organs of the baby have already developed, it can nonetheless lead to a host of problems such as a fatter baby, hypoglycemia, jaundice, respiratory distress, and developmental problems like difficulty in walking, jumping, etc.

On your part, you will be at greater risk for:

pre-eclampsia
urinary tract infections

Treating gestational diabetes

So what should a mother do if she has gestational diabetes? When you have gestational diabetes, you need to seek treatment immediately. Go to a diabetologist at once so he can assess your needs and come up with the right treatment plan.

The treatment plan in gestational diabetes has the principal goal of regulating blood sugar levels through:

the right diet
exercise
medications

The Right Diet

The right diet for you in this case includes fruits and vegetables and whole grains. As much as possible you must refrain from eating foods that are high in fat and low in essential nutrients. It is also recommended to eat at least six meals a day.

Exercise

Regular exercise is to be encouraged as this can prevent weight gain which can trigger or worsen complications. If it’s okay with your doctor, engaging in aerobic exercises is a good way of regulating blood sugar levels.

Medications

For some women, eating the right foods and exercising are enough to maintain normal blood sugar levels, but for others, they need insulin injections, along with diet and exercise.

Close monitoring is very important in this case; your diabetologist may even advise you to use a special device to monitor your blood sugar levels throughout the day. Your doctor, too, will monitor the development of your baby. He may request for ultrasounds and run other tests to make sure that the baby is coping well.

Although this type of diabetes usually goes away after the baby is born, mothers are at greater risk of developing type II diabetes later in life. That is why monitoring of blood sugar levels, as well as eating the right foods and engaging in regular
exercise, will prove to be of great value to a woman with gestational diabetes.

Kidney Stones Laser Treatment-Have No Fear

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

The common first symptom of a kidney stone is extreme pain which begins suddenly when a stone moves in the urinary tract and blocks the flow of urine.

Kidney Stones Laser Treatment at last resort.

Yeah, “like a rolling stone” Typically, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney or in the lower abdomen. This is where the rocking concert really startsa sure pain, not only in the ass but for the whole body of the person suffering it.

TRACING THE ‘EVIL BAND-IT GENIUS’

They are genetic. These diagnostic images give the doctor important information about the stone’s size and location. Yeah, these pain-in-the-body rocking BAND-its are inherited. If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles in the wall of the narrow ureter try to squeeze the stone into the bladder.

Hypercalciuria is inherited; it may be the cause of stones in more than half of patients. Most kidney stones pass out of the body without any intervention by a physician.

THE ROCK BANDIT’S YESTERDAY AND TODAY

For women, the dominance of kidney stones peaks in their 50s. Parents may often mistake their child’s symptoms for appendicitis or gastritis.

People even visit almost 3 million times to health care providers, and greater than 500,000 people go to emergency rooms for kidney stone problems every year. 6 million and 2. A 3-year-old Hong Kong girl has developed a kidney stone after drinking Chinese milk powder, the government has said, as a major contamination scare spread to the southern city.

Doctors recommend for children between the ages of 5 and 10 who have kidney stones to drink six glasses of water a day and those kids over 10, to drink 10 glasses.

TURN OFF THE MUSIC-LET HER DO IT

And what’s better that it is all-natural, meaning you’d be nursed none other than our very own Mother Nature. The various types of treatments used to remove kidney stones as well as some home remedy treatments.

There are some ways to give remedy to kidney stones through the natural method. But since the common formation of kidney stones is through the mixture of calcium into other substances, why not minimize the calcium inside your body? Instead of a calcium supplement, why not take magnesium supplement?

Remember earlier, kidney stones are formed through calcium concocted in other chemicals. Recently, news claims that lemonade is an effective and delicious way of treating kidney stones.

But for patients who’d rather avoid yet another medication, lemonade is an attractive alternative. Watermelons would be very advisable for patients of kidney stones.

48lbs It was Sandor Sarkadi’s kidney stone. And there goes the unexpected news.

WE ALL COME TO A CONCLUSION

You know you got to be prepared on this fight once they have started it. Could you just imagine how your child would suffer on and on if his or her kidney stones would go back again and again? He or she might undergo these treatments once, but could he or she endure this a lifetime? What if the pestering bandits keep coming back again?

Now, with all these facts served before you, have not you realized this is the perfect time to free yourself and your loved ones from the ‘kidnapping’ these rocking bandits made in your urinary tract? The BAND-its would have no “choosing over”.

It might lead to your termination. Using a small scope the urinary system is entered, the stone is broken up and the pieces are then retrieved with Kidney Stones Laser Treatments.

Mother Nature’s Solution For Excessive Sweating

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

If you suffer from excessive sweating, or hyperhydrosis, and want to solve the problem, you would probably try anything. But if you look to high-stregth anti-perspirants and other medications, are you potentially swopping one health problem for another?

But you don’t want to get rid of one health issue just to end up with another, possibly worse one – so what do you do? Should you just accept your condition and all the social embarrassment that comes with it? Well, thanks to good old Mother Nature – there just might be happier solution.

A number of natural remedies are becoming increasing popular with sufferers of excessive sweating. Although it seems to be the case that there is no single guaranteed solution – isn’t this also true of chemical treatments? But since these are natural remedies, you can try all or any of them without worrying about side-effects. It’s safe to keep trying and testing so you can find something that works for you. So, here are just a few popular alternatives to those nasty chemical-laden products: Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey. Take 2 tsp of thick raw, organic honey and mix it with 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar (the non-acidic kind). Take three times a day on an empty stomach.

Magnesium supplements. These have been known to be helpful in stopping excessive sweating. Due to their possible laxative effect, a small dose of less than 500 mgm is probably best to start with. (Magnesium is also helpful for calming the nerves, relieving depression and reducing stress and sleep problems.)

Sage. Boil a few sage leaves for 10 minutes in 1 1/2 cups of water then drink first thing in the morning. If one cup a day doesn’t work, try another one a few hours later. Also try adding sage to food.

Baking soda. Make a paste by mixing the rubbing alcohol and a teaspoon of corn starch and baking soda. Add a couple drops of a nicely scented essential oil and it will smell good too! Apply it last thing at night and then wash it off when you wake up in the morning.

Tea soak. Brew a nice strong pot of black tea, let it cool, pour it into a plate of some sort, and soak hands/feet for 3-5 minutes. (Note: soaking too long could turn your skin brown.) For underarms, just get some tea on your hand and rub, let dry, rub again. You can also try this with sage tea.

It’s only natural that you want to cure your excessive sweating but equally you don’t want to set yourself up with other health concerns. So why not try Nature’s Way? Many people have already used these alternative remedies to free themselves from the embarrassment of hyperhidrosis – and you can too. Naturally.

Obese Kids, Facts, Prevention and Solutions

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Obesity or over nutrition is a generalized and excessive accumulation of fat in subcutaneous and other tissues.

Obesity in childhood is not a disease but rather a symptom complex having a weak association with adult obesity with its correlates of increased mortality, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemias, liver diseases, cholelithiasis, and adult-onset diabetes.

Factors related to the occurrence of overweight and obesity are multifactorial in nature with the exception of certain single gene disorders associated with human obesity (Prader-Willi, Bardet-Biedl, and Cohen syndromes).

Some of known factors include:

- Repeated and uncritical offering of a bottle as a method of dealing with a fretful or crying infant may establish a habit that leads the infant to seek food whenever experiencing frustration.

- Uncritical early introduction of high-calorie solid foods may lead to rapid weight gain and obesity

- Heredity has recently been shown to influence fatness, regional fat distribution, and response to overfeeding. Infants born to overweight mothers have been found to be less active and to gain more weight by age of three months when compared with infants of normal weight mothers, suggesting a possible inborn drive to conserve energy.

- Excess fruit juice consumption by preschool-age children has been reported to be associated with obesity.

- excessive intake of high-energy foods

- inadequate exercise in relation to age

- more sedentary life-style

- low metabolic rate relative to body mass

- increased insulin sensitivity

The incidence of childhood obesity relates strongly to family variables, including parental obesity (The risk of becoming obese is greatest among children who have two obese parents), small family size, and family patterns of inactivity. An increased amount of time spent viewing T.V., playing video games, or “surfing” the internet appears to correlate with an increased incidence of childhood obesity.

Complications of obesity:

- Children with obesity experience significant social and psychological stresses and difficulties.

- School children are frequently harassed, intimidated, and excluded from other activities; teachers may treat obese children differently.

- Sleep apnea is increasingly identified in obese children, it is estimated that sleep apnea occurs in 7% of obese children, and it directly diminishes participation and academic performance.

- Glucose intolerance and non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM) occur in obese children and adolescents.

- Obese children have elevated serum levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides and lowered high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.

- Obese children are at increased risk of becoming obese adults.

- The pickwickian syndrome is a rare complication of extreme exogenous obesity, in which patients have severe cardiorespiratory distress with hypoventilation.

Prevention and treatment:

Early attempts to modify behavior commencing in infancy period, my effectively prevent overeating and obesity. Such attempts include;

1. Feeding an infant on demand shortly after birth.

2. Providing food only at signs of hunger in the 1st year of life.

3. Avoiding cueing by showing attractive foods or regimenting feeding times by clock.

4. Teaching the child to eat only when hungry.

After childhood obesity is established, active participation and motivation of both the child and the family is essential to implement an effective plan for weight reduction and maintenance.

Techniques used for fat reduction in adults, such as surgery, gastric balloons and pharmacotherapies are contraindicated in children.

Very low-calorie diets are inappropriate because they may impair growth and development at critical points during childhood.

Successful treatment of childhood obesity requires attention to the following components:

- Modification of diet and caloric content.

- Definition and use of appropriate exercise programs.

- Behavior modification of the child.

- Involvement of the family in therapy.

I have an issue where I want my children’s grandma to be part of their life, like any mother would but…?

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Ever since I separated from her adopted son about 5 years ago, who was addicted to drugs and very abusive, and now going to prison for three years for other offenses he committed couple of months ago, she (grandma) never calls or even notice our kids 8 and 6 years of age. I now married this very nice guy about 3 years ago and he’s been an excellent father for my kids. After I married I remember speaking to my her (grandma) about 3 or 4 times and her concern was for me to remove my children last name (which is the grandpa and fathers last name last name) and to change it to my new husband last name and I didn’t understand why, but her theory was that their real father is never going to be there for them. I really didn’t seem interested in doing that, so I never did. So like five months ago, I send her pictures and drawings of her grandchildren and she turned around and send them to her son (the kids father) who has never cared for his children emotionally or financially, and that has been in and out of rehabilitation, when they were actually address to her. Well I felt hurt when my ex told me that he had the pictures because I really wanted her to part of the kids’ life or at least to respond back to them. But she never did. So anyway my son and my daughter had many unanswered question this past week about who she (grandma) was like “who is she?” “She’s our grandma, then why doesn’t she call us or visit us?” So I said to them that were something that she had to answer herself. So I couple of days later they keep insisting so I finally called her and I let her know that the children had many questions for her but she really didn’t really seem interested at all she kept saying ” let’s don’t get them confused” she said that many times. I don’t know what she meant. So anyway my son was so anxious to talk to her and I passed the phone on to him and she basically cut him off because he passed back to me, they didn’t even last 15 seconds. I need somebody to help understand what she means because I’m so confused because her being a psychologist for children and her husband being a physiatrist why would they act that way? What does it mean that she doesn’t want to get the kids confused, in what way? Sometimes I wonder if they think that way because they are from a higher social class I mean my education is not that bad I’m getting my associates in criminal justice and thinking of transferring to the California University. I don’t want to think this way but I wonder if it’s because I’m Mexican and they are white? I don’t know if their prejudice?

Can Amy Winehouse Beat Addiction and Still Say No,no,no to Rehab?

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Reports surfaced recently in the news that Amy Winewhouse’s parents are shocked at their daughter’s drug problem! Claiming they always knew Amy was a smoker, but had no idea whatsoever that she was hooked on cocaine, heroin, pain killers, and other drugs. It’s also been reported that a close friend of Amy’s actually witnessed her informing her parents on several occasions that she had an addiction. The same source also reported that Amy had actually pulled out a joint and smoked it in front of her mom, at a family wedding. The next day, she offered her father a hit from her crack pipe, to which he declined!

Amy has been quoted as saying; “I am sad to hear of the news that my parents did not know I was a junkie. I tried my best as a daughter to do the drugs right in front of them, but they still wanted to deny my problem. I mean, how fu**in stupid are these people.”

Now, forgive me if you will, but it sounds as if her parents not only knew, but they also ignored the problem! It is quite apparent that a lack of parenting is at hand, and I can only speculate that there may be a whole entourage of dysfunctional behavior involved!

I am not at all surprised that Amy has fallen prey to addiction since the emotional pain caused by family dysfunction is at the root of addictive behavior.

Are you suffering from addiction?

When you were a child, did your parents verbally abuse you? Were you physically or sexually abused? Did one or both of your parents suffer from alcoholism or drug abuse? Did your parents control or manipulate you? Did your parents show up part-time for a job that required full time parenting? Like most, you may not realize how much these family dysfunctions have destroyed your self-esteem or why they are the root cause of your addiction! You see, there are many types of addictions, and they all have the same common denominator’ family dysfunction!

Addictive behavior is a symptom of the emotional trauma caused by family dysfunction. Therefore, when you fix the root of the problem habitual behavior becomes repulsive. Instead, the mainstream philosophy has followed a pattern of bombarding the public with multiple theories and confusing psychobabble, neither of which address liberation from family dysfunction nor restoring self-esteem. These treatments not only fail to preserve anonymity, but they also fail in excess of ninety percent of the time!

The following is a brief outline of the 5 steps to addiction freedom. Prior to following these steps or any addiction recovery program, take the necessary time to ascertain whether you require the additional support of an addiction counselor or medical attention regarding withdrawal.

1. Step One: Unearth the Square Root

Family dysfunction is the common denominator, or square root of all addictive behavior, and until it is brought to the forefront and confronted nothing will change! This is by far the most important and critical step of the entire process. There are two parts to step one, and they are as follows:

A. Uncovering your family dysfunction

Physical abuse
Sexual abuse
Verbal abuse
Alcoholic parent
Controlling parent
Inadequate parenting

B. Confront the parent or parents responsible for the dysfunction

The thought of confronting the person that is responsible for your emotional trauma is one the most frightening situations you will face. However, it is also the most liberating and empowering thing you’ll ever do! Why do you need to confront your parent or parents? Well, first let me clarify the meaning of the word confront and in what context we are using this term. Confronting the person does not at all mean that you should verbally attack them for your misfortunes. On the contrary, you are not doing this for them. You are doing it for you! The confrontation is not meant to be an attack, but it is rather a chance for you to set the record straight and drop the emotional baggage that you’ve been toting around.

2. Step Two: Remove your Emotional Baggage

You have completed step one and have confronted your parent or parents. This in and of itself will have removed much of the pain and emotional trauma. However, to fully free yourself from their emotional stronghold, it will be necessary to find forgiveness in your heart for a family member that has committed an atrocity against you. Forgive! How can I forgive someone that committed these atrocities against me? Many people have a misconception about forgiveness. Forgiveness is not reconciliation! There is a drastic difference between the two. Reconciliation would mean that you have accepted and submit to their behavior and have agreed to try and continue the relationship under those circumstances. Forgiveness means that you merely give up or cease the resentment of the offender.

Step Three: Cure Wounditis

Without question, partaking in habitual behavior not only causes you pain but, it inflicts pain on the people around you as well. However, do not allow what you have done in the past or what others have done to you, to cause you to live in fear of what the future holds. The past is the past, it is over, and living in it does not serve anyone well. Live in the present moment, be kind to yourself, and learn to love yourself. How can you love someone else if you don’t love yourself? The answer is you can’t!!! It isn’t a big secret that you’re feeling shame and guilt for what you’ve done. In fact, you’re probably questioning right now as to whether you should be punished for your past actions. Well guess what, its ok! God doesn’t punish people, we punish ourselves. God is a loving and forgiving being. So if you thought that you would continue to punish yourself with shame and guilt before God gets a hold of you, you can stop right now! We do not have defects of character, are not full of shortcomings, and we certainly are not powerless! On the Contrary, we are all the same, we are all connected, and we all have the same power to change!

Step Four: Awaken the Power within

Whether you want to admit it or not, all of the pain you have been through concerning your habitual behavior is a spiritual lesson. And until you view it as such, it will continue to cause you suffering and unhappiness. Every dark cloud does have a silver lining, and if you look hard enough you’ll find one in this habitual situation too. However, to find that silver lining you must ask the right questions;

1. What can I learn from my addiction?

2. How can I grow from it?

The answers to these questions can be found in a place that is uncharted by most, and it is just waiting to be explored! It’s called your true self! To embark on a journey of Self -reflection requires the practice of Mediation.

For more information on mediation you can visit my website below.

Step five: Practice Acts of Random Kindness

Happiness is a state of mind. Individuals that are suffering from addictive behavior are not happy! Ironically, in an attempt to find happiness, they chose a vehicle to mask their emotional pain through the use of alcohol, illicit drugs, and various other compulsions. However, happiness is never found on the outside in material possessions or in the abuse of substances and compulsions! True life happiness can only be found in one place, and that place is within! Happiness is not found in the practice of outward ideals or in other people. To the contrary, it is actually the small acts of random kindness that opens the heart and fuels the principle of unconditional love!

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

My mother and I have always had an EXTREMELY close relationship. she was my best friend up until about 6 months ago when she decided to move from idaho to illinois to get back together with a former ex (abusive) boyfriend from about 16 years ago. She told me that b/c so many years had passed he had changed alot and was a better man. so she divorced my step dad and left my 17yr old brother to live with her friend, and moved across the country. i went with her because i figured there would be some good opportunity for school. when we got here we found out he lives in his parents basement, was addicted to oxycontin, was an alcoholic, and numerous other very bad flaws. regaurdless-she married him a month later- divorced him the next mo. and moved back to idaho-now its been 2months and she told me shes moving back here to illinois because she “loves him and has to try to make it work”. Again abandoning my brother. ive lost all respect. i dont know who she is anymore. Give up? plz Help

13 Things Women Want in a Man

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

You may think that women want someone who is buffed and tanned and looks like a bodybuilder model from GQ. Those things are nice and yes we like to look at those guys, but just like you don’t need for us to look like Victoria Secret models we don’t require it in our man. OK. The 13 most important qualities that women look for

in a man are:

1. Honesty

2. Intelligence

3. Nice Smile

4. Sense of Humor

5. Manners

6. Sensitivity

7. Sincerity

8. Gainfully employed

9. Has own place

10. Owns a car

11. Affectionate

12. Considerate

13. Thoughtful

OK. First things first. Honesty is the NUMBER ONE trait that women look for in a man. That doesn’t mean to be brutally honest and tell her she looks fat. (Never do that) but we want to know that we can trust that what you are telling us is the truth. If you’ve lied in the past it will be a very cold day in Hell before she trusts you again. And she may want to check your phone messages and read your email and call you 10 times a day to feel secure that you’re trustworthy again. You may not like that but if you lie it may be the price you have to pay.

Intelligence: Women want to feel safe and protected and we want our men to be smart. Maybe even smarter than us. Women feel that your brain is your sexiest organ. So dazzle us with your brain and you will be surprised how stimulated we become. Kick her ass at “Jeopardy” and watch what happens.

Smile: We love your smile. We can’t get enough of it. It makes us want to touch you and kiss you. So brush and floss and see your dentist and keep your mouth kissably fresh.

Sense of Humor: If you can keep us laughing you are golden. We love to laugh and we love a man who can make us laugh. This goes back to the smart thing as well. You have to be smart to be humorous. We like a man who’s humor challenges us. Leave that 3 Stooges stuff for the guys. Women don’t appreciate 12 year old juvenile humor.

Manners: Little things like manners are very important. Women don’t want their man to drive up and reach over from the driver’s seat and open the passenger door or just wait for us to open the door. A little old fashioned chivalry goes a long way. Escort the lady to the car and open the door for her. We love to be treated like queens. It makes us feel like you think we’re special. And hopefully you do think she’s special. We love a man with manners. We know we can take him home and our parents will love him. We don’t want to have to worry about what you might do or say. We want to be with a man not a boy. That means no farting, belching, toe or nose picking, spitting, or smacking your lips when you eat. We want to know we can take you in public and we won’t be embarrassed. And don’t forget we also like to show you off to our girlfriends and we want them to approve. You want the girlfriends to think you’re a “Keeper”.

Sensitive: That whole thing about being “Sensitive” and getting in touch with your “Feminine Side” are all very true. A woman is waaaay more attracted to a man who isn’t afraid to show his feelings and be gentle and sensitive. We actually think that makes you more manly. A man who clams up and thinks being macho is what we want is very wrong. One of the things that is extremely attractive to a woman is when it’s obvious that you are attracted to us. There is nothing hotter than seeing how much we turn you on. Don’t be afraid to show

that. But of course there are limits and this can easily be overdone. Be careful about showing things like that at work or you might find yourself in a sexual harassment situation. And if you decide to try to tip your hand to a woman and show your interest, remember to keep it subtle. No woman likes a STALKER or a HORNDOG! We love to know that we are getting to you, but not in an obnoxious way. You may have to make some changes in

your behavior. But of course, they’ll be changes for the better and you will most likely be happier for it.

Sincerity: This is a little like honesty, but what I mean is if you need to change some of your behaviors to be more attractive to women then don’t just do it to get the girl. This is something that has to be real. If you think that’s not you, then maybe you should think about making a change. You can decide you don’t want to change, that you like yourself the way you are, but if that was working for you then you probably wouldn’t be reading this article. You were drawn to this piece because you must truly want to know how to be better with

women and if you sincerely do then you may need to take an honest look at yourself and decide what you want because it has to be real.

Employed: OK. This is a no-brainer, but truthfully there are some men out there without jobs that think they can get all the women they want. I have no idea what makes them think that, but their egos are on overtime. Women need security and we want a man who can provide for us. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to work, but it does mean that we want to know that you are a responsible MAN.

Has Own Place: OK. Matthew McConaughey was really cute in Failure to Launch but that was a comedy. Seriously we don’t want to have a sleepover at your Mom’s house. Having your own place just shows us again that you are a responsible adult. And it does help if your place is decorated nicely. I don’t mean you have to hire a decorator, but we’re not drawn to frathouse chic. Impress us with your style. Again we want MEN not BOYS!

Has Own Car: This may not be important if you live in New York or in a place where the public transportation makes owning a car unnecessary but in most of the world you need a car to pick up your date and take her out. It is important to mention here that even though we love luxury cars we don’t need that in our man. Women love men with all kinds of cars, but FYI keep your car clean (especially the inside). Nothing says SLOB more than a dirty car. Take out the fast food wrappers and keep it neat and smelling nice.

Affectionate: We really do love to touch and be touched. And I am not talking sexually here. But try holding her hand when she’s not expecting it or gently rubbing her back. Little touchy things like that mean a lot. Rub her arm when you’re reading the paper or do little things like foot and hand massages. Women love that.

Be Considerate: We appreciate the little things like holding a door open or not walking ahead of us. If we’re sleeping make sure you turn out the light when you leave. Show her you care by picking up after yourself. When you get some dessert out of the fridge ask if she’d like some or make sure you leave some for her. Just basic consideration is so important to us.

Thoughtfullness: This may sound like consideration, but it goes a little further. Being thoughtful of her needs goes a long way. Maybe give her a call from work just to see how she’s doing. While we love that we don’t want to be smothered with a bunch of calls all day long. Bring something home for her when you go to the store, like some fresh flowers (I know that’s cliché, but that’s because it works) or maybe some of her favorite ice cream…just because. This shows us that you are thinking of us and that makes us feel important and special.

Those 2 words important and special should be burned into your brain. If you can always make a woman feel important and special you will be an irrisistable Chick Magnet.

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Tetralogy of fallot is a congenital heart defect. This heart defect is mostly find in children. Congenital heart defects change the normal flow of blood through the heart. This rare and complex heart defect occurs in about 5 out every 10,000 babies. It affects boys and girls equally. Tetralogy of Fallot occurs due to improper development of the heart in the first eight weeks of fetal growth. Some congenital heart defects may have a genetic link. One genetic link that has been associated with tetralogy of fallot is a deletion, or tiny missing piece, of chromosone 22q11. The condition is known as the 22q11 deletion, and blood tests are available to detect it.

Environmental exposures, such as maternal abuse of alcohol during pregnancy leading to fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), are Connected to Tetralogy of Fallot. Mothers who take medications to control seizures and mothers with phenylketonuria (PKU) also are more likely to have a baby with Tetralogy of fallot. Tetralogy of fallot results in low oxygenation of blood due to mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in the left ventricle through the VSD and preferential flow of both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood from the ventricles through the aorta because of obstruction to flow through the pulmonary valve.

Corrective surgery is usually performed at about six months. The goal of surgery is to repair the defects so the heart can work as normally as possible. Almost 70 per cent of babies with Fallot’s tetralogy will need complex heart surgery Heart surgery and anaesthetic techniques have changed dramatically in recent years. The first surgery may be done to help increase blood flow to the lungs, and a surgery to correct the problem is done at a later time. Corrective surgery is done to widen part of the narrowed pulmonary tract and close the ventricular septal defect.

infertility treatment does it work

Have you ever wondered how to get pregnant? This question evokes varying responses from different people. Romance and emotion do play their part in the decision of having a baby. However, it is not uncommon to feel pained and frustrated, especially among the couples who are not able to become parents). Ideas of a kinky nature are bound to come to such couples.

Most newly wed couples take adequate protection against having a baby too quickly. However, in a matter of months, even as the duo is still getting to know each other properly, the eagerness to conceive a kid increases. This is hardly surprising, given the natural instinct of motherhood in ladies. A wife always wants to become a mother, since that gives her a sense of fulfillment. Thus, even in a fiercely competitive world, where the cost of everyday living runs into thousands, the craving for a baby remains high.

However, the females need to know how to get pregnant in a proper, healthy manner. The welfare and healthiness of both the mother and the kid, who would be seeing the light of the world soon, is of paramount importance. Hence, a careful perusal of the following discussion is necessary:

• Women should start preparing to become a mother, at least 3 to 4 months prior to the actual delivery,
• Holistic measures for the maintenance of good health conditions is necessary for both the mother and child,
• A soon-to-be-mother should completely shun smoking and drinking habits,
• It is of paramount importance that no drugs of intoxication are consumed,
• Healthy, adequate nourishment is extremely necessary for women at these times. This is because both the pre-delivery and post-delivery periods are generally rather stressful for them, and
• For maintaining the desirable health conditions, minerals, proteins (that are easy to digest) and minerals should be consumed in adequate amounts.

It is also crucial to pay heed to some other important factors. Some such factors are:

? Thorough knowledge of one’s own body ? The period of ovulation in a woman is the ideal time for her to conceive a baby. Thus, she should be aware of the time of ovulation. There are, fortunately, many ways to find out what the time of ovulating would be. The ‘Post Ovulation Time’ (also termed the Luteal Phase) has to be estimated. This period, i.e., the time between ovulating and the date of commencement of the menstrual cycle, generally is fixed at 14 days in most women. The period starts after the length of the Luteal Phase, or 14 days after the occurrence of ovulation. There is an alternative way to find out the period of ovulation, which is based on the Basal Body Temperature method (i.e., the BBT technique). In this method, the temperature of the vagina is recorded by a specially-made BBT thermometer. This is done everyday in the morning. During the period of ovulation, this temperature rises significantly, and such increases can be easily tracked. For higher chances of conceiving a baby, sexual intercourse at these times is ideal.

? When does sexual union helps in conception the most? ? This information is necessary, since it ensures that the sperms of the best quality enter the female body at the time of ovulation. Sperms should have quick reaction time when a woman ovulates. Hence, fresh sperm is required to be present in the body of the female immediately before ovulating. However, there may occur certain problems in the sperm of the males too. In such cases, men should not be releasing sperms, for a minimum of 3 days before the scheduled day of sexual union. These data is extremely important, in case you are wondering how to get pregnant.

? The ideal frequency of lovemaking for higher chances of conceiving ? Among other factors, a correct estimate of the ovulation period in women and the overall physique of men determine the ideal frequency of sexual union. There is a school of thought that, sperm count goes down, with a resultant weakening of the male sperm, if intercourse is held everyday. Conversely, others tend to think that the male sperm becomes ineffective, old and stale (with much lower potency) if it remains within the testicles, due to prolonged periods of abstinence. It is generally recommended that, sexual union, during the period of female ovulation, should be held about once in every 2 days.

It is always better to provide holistic solutions to the question of how to get pregnant. Such an approach helps to gain an insight about the inner workings of our body, and the reasons for not conceiving earlier. It also comes up with several usable solutions to this problem, including medicines and herbs of Chinese origin as well as changes in eating habits and overall lifestyle. Suitable exercise methods and, if required, acupuncture is also recommended. Unlike the conventional methods, the holistic approach has no adverse side effects, and has a much higher chance of providing the desired results. Hence, in these cases, holistic approach works much better than conventional ways.

Psychiatry: The Path to Destruction

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Many psychiatrists have placed themselves on top of the pedestal as the last bastion of help; as experts in the field of the mind; as those who know best when it comes to raising children, fixing relationships, handling depression, judging sanity and insanity, educational failures and so much more. They hold degrees from higher institutions to back up these claims and they demand high hourly fees or are highly paid witnesses.

Interestingly enough they hold the distinction of having the highest rate of insurance fraud convictions and the highest rate of suicide amongst their own ranks. A large number of their own families and they themselves suffer from many of their own made-up diseases that they claim they can cure yet this profession still purports that they can help the rest of us.

MEET THE PSYCHIATRISTS.

These are the people who are driving drugs into the schools; who are excusing poor scholastic performance under the guise of “feel-good” education; who routinely bilk healthcare insurers (and thereby the public) of millions of dollars a year in spurious “treatments” which yield demonstrably negative results and in many cases do not occur at all. These are the people who advocate torture in the form of electroshock and who have tasked themselves with reorganizing the way the world educates its young and deals with its “abnormals”. Yet these are also the people who not only cannot agree on definitions of the diseases they claim to be able to treat, but openly admit that they don’t know what they’re doing.

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE who actively seek to wreck our culture and our civilization by legitimizing a viewpoint that treats man as an animal, incapable of improvement and doomed to a life of limitations. In the hands of psychiatrists, Beethoven would have been tranquilized, Rembrandt lobotomized, and Jesus Christ given ECT, put in restraints and locked away, never to see the sky again.

IF YOU ARE WONDERING why the world seems to be coming apart at the seams, why crime, illiteracy, drug abuse and moral decline, depression, suicides, psychotic behaviour, divorce, etc. continue to make headlines daily, and why those who SAY they can do something about mental health CANNOT, you are not alone.

IF YOU WANT to find out about psychiatry, you can’t do much better than listen to the psychiatrists themselves. They will tell you exactly what they think about the human condition, what can be done about it, and how they believe the sane man (and therefore the ideal society) should function.

DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT: Others have come to their senses and know exactly what’s going on. Those few who have the courage to speak out against the majority in their profession deserve attention as well.

“What’s happening in the training of psychiatrists and in the quality of a psychiatrist is that they have become drug pushers. They have … forgotten how to sit down and talk to patients as to what their problems are.” – Walter Afield, psychiatrist, 1994
“… in 40 years, ‘biological psychiatry’ has yet to validate a single psychiatric condition/diagnosis as an abnormality/disease, or as anything ‘neurological’, ‘biological’, ‘chemically imbalanced’, or ‘genetic’.” Dr. Fred A. Baughman Jr., Pediatric Neurologist “Malpractice and Violation of Informed Consent”

“… modern psychiatry has yet to convincingly prove the genetic/biological cause of any single mental illness … Patients [have] been diagnosed with ‘chemical imbalances’ despite the fact that no test exists to support such a claim, and … there is no real conception of what a correct chemical balance would look like.” – David Kaiser, psychiatrist; “Commentary Against Biological Psychiatry” – Psychiatric Times, December 1996

“What do you do when you don’t know what to do? No wonder there are more suicides among psychiatrists than in any other profession.” Psychiatrist R. D. Laing – Wisdom, Madness, and Folly, p. 126
“The way to sell drugs is to sell psychiatric illness.” – Carl Elliot, Bioethicist ; University of Minnesota, 2001

“We don’t have an independent, valid test for ADHD; there are no data to indicate that ADHD is due to a brain malfunction … and finally, after years of clinical research and experience with ADHD, our knowledge about the cause or causes of ADHD remains speculative.” – National Institute of Health; Consensus Conference on the Diagnosis; and Treatment of ADHD, 1998

“The field of mental health is highly subjective, capricious, and dominated by whims, mythologies, and public relations. In many ways it is a pop culture with endless fads but with no real substance.” Dr. Walter Fisher – Assistant Superintendent, Elgin State Hospital – Power, Greed, and Stupidity in the Mental Health Racket

“The young and the old are defenseless against relatives who want to get rid of them by casting them into the role of mental patient, and against psychiatrists whose livelihood depends on defining them as mentally ill.” – Thomas Szasz, psychiatrist ; Cruel Compassion, 1994

The headlines of today’s newspapers tell tales of people driven to acts that can only be termed insane: students who come to school armed for mayhem, workers who blaze away at their fellows, killers stalking innocent victims for no reason at all, mothers who kill their innocent children.

But if these people are driven to madness, who’s doing the driving? Digging deeper into the scene, one finds time and again evidence of psychiatrists hard at work, causing the very insanity that they claim to be able to treat. Evidence: Adolf Hitler (yes… he was being treated by psychiatry BEFORE the Holocaust!); Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, George Washington (yes, he too died at the hands of psychiatric treatment!), Ernest Hemingway, John Hinckley (prior to shooting John Lennon!), Kip Kinkel, Columbine shooters, Andrea Yates, Shawn Cooper, and the list can go on for miles… More than 80% of suicides are PRECEDED by the use of psychiatric type treatments (drugs, therapy, etc.).

Why am I writing this article now? Because I’m frustrated of having to clean up and educate the very people that so many psychs have ruined. And make no mistake about it… it’s virtually everyone… we have become a nation of fast fixes, “no responsibility”, “spectators to life”, lacking a true view of ourselves as spiritual beings, humanoids! We view our bodies as “who we are” instead of the thing separate from us that we are in control of. We look for sensations and pleasures. We get our education from the TV commercials about what drugs to tell our doctors we want to ingest that will hopefully change our lives… instead of changing our lifestyles! There is not one person who has not been influenced by psychiatric propaganda. (except the few who have risen above it and are willing to step outside the box and get educated.

The side effects of anti-depressants and drugs like Ritalin, Adderall, Zoloft, Prozac, etc. will fill pages: suicide ideology, blocks the production of hormones, depression, headaches, addiction, high blood pressure, weight gain, impotence, sleep disturbances, itching, dry mouth, dizziness, gastritis, and the list goes on and on… These drugs do more damage and have yet to CURE anyone of the so-called mental diseases.

Our recent culture has been marred greatly by the underhanded dealings of psychiatrists… but as you noticed earlier in this article… there are a few brave souls out there within that profession who have taken a stand against their own group.

You as a consumer or natural health practitioner/consultant simply do not have to bow down to their domination any longer. There are solutions out there that are natural and work. Sure… you may be in such a mess right now that you still want that quick fix… I understand. Now let me point something out to you… there is not A PILL that will handle your life for you. Only YOU can handle your own life.
There is no such thing as ADD or ADHD. There is no disease of Alcoholism. There is no disease of being BI-POLAR. There is no disease of being Manic-Depressed. YES, there are SYMPTOMS! That I know. But they are NOT diseases that need mind altering addictive drugs… those drugs CURE NOTHING! Never have, never will. And YES… fixing the problem takes work.

I understand that not everyone reading this or everyone out there will rise to the occasion and do what they have to do to help themselves reach health and happiness. I understand that I might step on the toes of some doctors. I understand that some of you simply still want the quick fix. But for those of you who are determined to get your life back, determined to do something about it, determined to not live a life drugged, dulled, and numbed… well… you are the ones we in the natural health field want to help.

DESPITE ALL that the psychiatrists and their cohorts would have you believe, remember that there is hope. No one is doomed to a life bound by drugs, shock, psychosurgery, or worse. No society or individual is doomed to the degradation of going to “Hell in a hand-basket”. Much can be done to help the individual naturally. I urge all doctors to learn the truth and quite treating symptoms alone. I urge all patients to sit up, take notice that continuing to do the same thing over and over again simply will not result in a change! Get educated. Become pro-active. Take control of your health and find a natural health practitioner that will assist you in preventing and rebuilding.

Overcrowding in Prisons

Causes of Overcrowding in Prisons and Possible Remedies

In any country today, the number of prisoners is steadily increasing and thus causing overcrowding in prisons. In America and Asia for instance, over one million people have been imprisoned for past five years and have become a major financial and controversial problem in these areas. However, with this increasing numbers of inmates many governments have been overwhelmed by the need for space in prisons and can no longer match the challenges that come with. The problem of overcrowding in prisons has been caused by a number of issues that range from those that are unique to states to those that transcend national boundaries. The solutions to this state exist and as Hough, Allen & Solomon (2008) aver, the solutions to it may need to be institutional for at best in part.

Nations have to rethink exactly what crimes deserve imprisonment. Prior to the current worldwide prohibition of drugs, the prison’s population in many nations was almost a quarter of what it is currently. But in the dawn of adoption and launching of the worldwide ‘war on drugs’ initiative thirty or so years ago, the prison’s population has always been in increase. Many studies provide that 70% to 75% of persons in prisons are prisoners of war against drugs. With the increased financial problems worldwide, many people have taken refuge in drugs which is contrary to the laws. As the number of drug takers increases it follows that nonviolent drug convicts also raise and are sent to the already overcrowded prisons. Such drug offenders have a high chance of reoffending even when they complete their sentence and therefore do not need imprisonment but rehabilitation.

Many nations have taken up mandatory minimum sentencing for petty crimes and have thus precipitated prison overcrowding. Such petty crimes can be reviewed and the offenders made to carry out social work while out of prisons since as Greenhaven (1994) adds ‘restitution and community work will go a long way in punishing a petty offender’. While supporters of the idea of mandatory minimum sentencing argued that such a strategy would go along way in reducing racial based and other forms sentencing based on favoritism, subsequent researches provide that racial discrimination stayed on with its increase being a consequence result. Such laws see to it that prisons will remain overcrowded since the jury has no alternative to forgive and release offenders to reduce their increasing numbers in prisons.

The increasing numbers of reoffending have greatly contributed to prison overcrowding in many nations. Criminals go through a process in prison that is motivated by harsh punishment that is aimed at ‘teaching them a lesson’. The animosity of officers and fellow inmates remains a key problem. Clark (1994) claims that ‘besides this physical brutality, inmates are subjected to verbal violence and are looked down upon from participation in programs, to sexual related abuses’.  This breeds the anti-social personality traits as a weapon of defense against the abusive institution that majors in sensory denial. This violence is permanently embedded in the offenders and they will never fit in the society as they become seasoned offenders with a high chance of reoffending. Ironically, while the society celebrates that criminals are put away each passing day in bid to make it safe and moral, no one seems to acknowledge the fact that the aim of punishment should be motivated by the need to rehabilitate offenders.

There are many foreign prisoners that are imprisoned in countries away from their mother countries thus creating overcrowding in such prisons. In America for instance, according to recent researches as stated in Clark (1994), 15% of inmates are foreigners and immigrants. This comes about if visiting individuals commit crimes in foreign countries and are tried and convicted. At times the state decides to initiate a move that sees dozens of poor people and people of a particular skin identity arrested for reasons termed as security specific. For instance in America when the Chicopee women’s prison was created there was an increased arrest of sex workers. A majority of arrests of this nature are for the low and non-violent crimes and have a great (and also unnecessary) financial impact on the taxpayer these arrests are for low level offenses or outstanding warrants and impact on the exchequer.

The whole idea of prison overcrowding has haunted governments for a long time and many times remedies that are proposed to solve it have turned to be factors that surprisingly allow it flourish. It has been thought widely that constructing new prisons can reduce overcrowding in prisons. But the fact is that such a move will provide nothing close to a remedy. Frankly, in the words of Clark (1994), ‘if new prisons are to be built it follows that the funds to run them have to come from somewhere else’ to cater for the financial implications carried by it. This in many times calls for an increase in corporate tax as a fund source. As Leveson (2002) notes, ‘a great number of the incarcerated are put in for committing crimes that are precipitated by poverty’, therefore, as the economic cuts in social amenities severe, the number of people in prisons also shoots up. The state should therefore ensure that the existing prisons are equipped with proper rehabilitation programs that aim at making the offenders more economically empowered once they walk out of prison.

Prisons are being overcrowded notably by failure of the offenders to afford the court bails. This has turned prisons to a reservoir of the poor people since many of those in prisons are low-income earners who cannot afford bail. It is worth accepting what Hough, Allen & Solomon (2008) state that, ‘the disappearance of many secure jobs in non- or low-skilled sectors has led to the creation of a large population that is unemployed or insecurely employed.’ In many societies across the globe, the prison has been seen as the only place that reminds the poor that freedom is allowed only to the rich who will always have enough to bail themselves out in courts. Many a times the duration spent as one awaits trial often exceed the sentence passed when one is found guilty. To eliminate this, courts can consider deducting the time one spends awaiting trial from the time that the convict has been sentenced.

The factor of profit motive can never go unmentioned as a cause of overcrowding since many great companies make a lot of it by doing business with prisons. The need to make profit that constantly define the society people live in does not excuse the prisons either. Though many governments have made efforts to portray prisons as areas out of bound for commerce, evidences still attest to the commercialization of these institutions. Strangely, even Massachusetts, despite the Pacheco law prohibiting privatization of such nature, the prisons still remain a lucrative business ground. Both the government and the companies bid for tenders in medical services, feeding, clothing and the like for the prisons. It appears therefore, the more the inmates the greater the profits. In order to please shareholders, corporations must achieve growth. Empty cells do not generate profits.

To conclude, factors that cause prison overcrowding include imprisoning petty offenders, mandatory minimum sentencing, high rates of reoffending, foreign prisoners and immigrants, poor policing, expensive court bails and the profit motive. This       problem of prison overcrowding can be solved if petty offenders are punished through social work, scrapping off the minimum sentencing and deporting foreigners so that they are tried and sentenced ion their own countries. The court bails should be charged realistically, the state must come up with rational policies that confirm that they can solve overcrowding in prisons. Prisons should not be viewed commercially as virgin grounds for doing business but instead be fully equipped to serve their rehabilitative function with a view to reducing rates of reoffending amongst the inmates.

Natural Remedies for Diabetes – Vital Information for Adults and Children

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Diabetes is a disease caused by a failure of the biological mechanisms for regulating blood sugar, due to insufficient of the production of insulin (hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy) by the pancreas. The disease is characterized by a significant increase in blood sugar. Three major types of diabetes are Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes and Gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is characterized by a loss of insulin production by particular cells of the pancreas (Beta cells or Langerhans cells. The causes of this loss of insulin production are still unknown. Type 1 diabetes can affect children or adults but, most of times, it starts between few months of life and about 35 years. The organism of a diabetic patient rejects, by the formation of antibodies, cells which are capable of producing insulin. The symptoms are discomfort and frequent urination which can lead to dehydration and weight loss. Type 1 diabetes accounts for 10% of patients with diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes or Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a form of diabetes characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood. This type of diabetes results from a lack of insulin secretion and its ineffectiveness to keep the blood sugar within a normal level. Type 2 Diabetes can be caused by genetic factors or unhealthy lifestyle, lack of exercise, obesity, alcohol abuse and high-fat diet. However, the causes of diabetes in the vast majority of cases have not yet any logical explanation.

Gestational diabetes mellitus is a type of diabetes that occurs in pregnant women only. No specific cause has been identified, but it is believed that during pregnancy, the body of the mother produces hormones to support the fetus as it grows. In some women, these hormones work against their bodies, making them less able to make the insulin needed to get energy from body cells. Without this insulin, the level of sugar in the mother’s blood starts to build up, which can do harm to both mother and fetus, if left untreated . Gestational diabetes occurs in nearly 7 percent of all pregnancies. Unlike type 1 and type 2 diabetes, Gestational diabetes is often treatable.

General signs of type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes

The symptoms of diabetes may occur in different ways: fatigue, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision, intense thirst, frequent urination, insatiable hunger, weight loss, muscle weakness. Some or all of these symptoms are present in patients with diabetes early in the disease. However, some diabetics have few symptoms. The disease is then detected in a blood sample.

Tips of Avoiding Miscarriage

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

It can be difficult to know how to avoid miscarriage, but often there are warning signs. You need to react quickly if you experience any of the signs. Miscarriages happen most often within the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. The causes are often unknown, but can commonly be chromosomal, meaning there was something not right with the baby’s chromosomes. Here are a few warning signs to look out for that may, though not necessarily so, indicate the onset of a miscarriage.

Tips:

1.    Don’t smoke or drink alcohol during your pregnancy. This should be obvious, but too many women ignore the evidence that smoking and drinking, especially during pregnancy, is dangerous and can lead to miscarriage.

2.    Zinc is the most important mineral for the reproductive system. Zinc deficiency among many other things impairs body’s ability to properly maintain pregnancy in women and produce healthy sperm in men.

3.    All foods that can aggravate the pitta must be avoided. This will lead to an improper digestive fire, leading to constipation. Constipation must be prevented during pregnancy at all costs.

4.    The American diet is about as bad as it gets and as other countries get more “Americanized” their diets are declining as well. Even though I’ve always maintained a body weight that was in the normal range, I still wasn’t eating foods that promoted fertility. I researched food and nutrition publications and followed a diet high in hormone regulating foods, fruits and vegetables. Regulating hormones is also critical in preventing miscarriage. As a bonus, foods that are good for fertility are happen to be great anti-aging strategies as well! It’s great for my ego when people ask me “Are you going to have another baby?” and I am now 47 years old!

5.    If women consult a physician before they consider getting pregnant and plan a pregnancy, exercise caution and take the necessary precautions, they can have a successful healthy pregnancy. These are a few facts about pregnancy miscarriage and a few tips on how to avoid it.

6.    Since it is believed that raised hormone levels and higher levels of insulin in overweight women are to blame for the miscarriage of healthy babies, it is suggested that women intending to get pregnant work at getting their weight to fall in the normal BMI range before conception.

7.    Women with reproductive difficulties may successfully deliver a baby through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). The cost of ART varies, depending on the complexity of the method the doctor uses.  ART is usually successful in three cycles. Be sure ask your doctor to define ‘success’ before you make your down payment, because some clinics define success as any conception, and others define it as taking home a baby.

8.    When trying to conceive it’s best to stay clear from all the alcohol. Alcohol is very harmful to woman’s eggs and men sperm before conception. As little as ONE glass can reduce fertility by 50%! This can further lead to damage of developing embryo and result in a miscarriage.

9.    Becoming pregnant after miscarriage won’t replace the lost pregnancy but may help you by refocusing your attention.

10.    Taking good care of the mother to be during the early months of pregnancy is very important. Even if there is no appetite due to morning sickness, good care should be taken and an attempt to have something nourishing. Women who have had miscarriages can still have healthy babies later.

Drunk Driving Speech Corrections !?

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Can you help me correct me speech its due tomorrow !!
Good afternoon fellow students and teachers today I am here to talk to you about Impaired driving and how no person should choose to under any circumstances.
My opinion is that no one should drive wile impaired.
What is Impaired driving? This means driving when your ability is affected by alcohol or drugs.
How much alcohol is too much alcohol? It depends on your weight and height but, if it’s your first time drinking you can easily get drunk by two-three drinks. Did you know that if you blood alcohol level reaches .08 you are drunk. Impaired driving seriously injures or kills many people throughout Canada, every year 259 million people are almost killed and every 22 minutes someone will die in an alcohol-related traffic accident. Although you probably think that it could never happen to you, but experts say everyone dose have a 40% chance of being in a crash involving alcohol use sometime in their life. If you are pulled over by a police officer and you have been drinking they usually will ask you to 1. walk in a straight line 2. sing the ABC’S backwards or 3. Take a breathalyzer. How hard do you think it would be to complete those tasks properly if you have been drinking alcohol? If you are caught drinking and driving you face jail time from six months to a year, or fines from $1,000 to $3,000 you also can get your drivers license taken away for up to 10 years , would you rather
spend time in jail , pay up to 3,000$ get your driving privileges taken away or get a ride home from a taxi , a sober friend , your mom or dad, or if you really don’t have a way to get home a police officer will take you home ! there are lots of options you can choose then driving drunk !,
Have you ever tired on those glasses that make you vision seem like you have been drinking ?
If you have image wearing those wile driving in a car! you could easily cause a accident.
Have you ever heard of MADD ? that stands for Mothers Agents drunk driving, there is actually a group on the internet that moms have created because there kids have been killed by a drunk driver.
