How can a baby whose mother is not a drug user, test positive for drugs?
January 3rd, 2010My sister, who never used drugs, drank alcohol or even smoked a cigarette, had a baby in April 2006, and in June she was tested for drugs. My sister tests where negative, as expected, but the baby was said to have very high levels of cocaine in her body. Can someone tell me how this can happen?
Either shes a liar or the nurses are sharing
Ask the babysitter?
Short answer….the fetus and the mother does not share blood. the fetus gets all it’s blood from the fathers sperm. cocaine stayes in the blood stream, thus the father of the baby uses drugs.
P.S. If I am miss informed please send the proof of your opinion, but it may be hard to find.
husband,bf,frined who ever…
Why was your sister tested for drugs 2 months after giving birth?
I’d say she used a kit to hide what’s in her, but got caught thru the baby.
p.s. For “blu” above, what then, is the purpose of the umbilical cord and placenta?
The father’s sperm contributes half of the genes.
I think you need to go back to health class.
p.p.s. “Blu”, I got my info from my health class, and I still remember it. Where did you get your so-called info?
Go to the library, or pay more attention in school. If you’ve graduated, I’d call that a miracle.
It’s absolutely impossible for the baby to test positive unless the mother was using drugs. Sorry, she has lied and is most likely VERY ashamed. P.S. from me too- Blu, you are so misinformed, that you gave me a nice laugh for the day!
