I have already been convicted, but I am a single mother with 2 children. I understand that I must take responsibilty for what I did, but is there anyway to get my license back soon.

Note: I know a great deal about cats and am about to get my B.S. in animal science. I am aware that he may have a cold, but at the moment, I don’t have a job (just moved) and don’t have $100 to fork over to the vet to be told it’s just a cold. I’m looking for advice from people who have had a similar problem, vets, etc.

I moved on 7/17; my mom took my cats on 7/10. She feeds them too much food at a time, so by the time I got them, they were used to eating about half what was in the bowl instead of all of it. I’ve been trying since then to get them back on a regular schedule, but I just moved out to my place on 9/1, so I’ve only been able to monitor them 24/7 for 9 days. Since we’ve been at the new place, I noticed I’d never seen Evo drinking from the water bowl, just from the leaking faucet, & he only eats half of his food no matter the amt. I noticed his nose was dry yesterday & he’s sleeping more.

My mom is severely addicted to the medication “Carisoprodol” aka “Soma.” She has been taking them for about 6 to 7 years now for back pain. My sister and I call them her “drunk pills” because she acts like she is drunk. Anyways, she acts VERY different when she takes them and it is obvious when she does take them. She has droopy eyes, slurred speech, does WEIRD things, can’t walk around very well, falls down, etc. Recently, she received more pills on the 13th and took all 30 pills over 2 days. The directions say take “1 tablet orally 3 times a day as needed,” so I know she is over doing it. She also buys them from a company(which I know is illegal because the drug is prescription only) that gives her 90 pills. She takes these in about a 4 day period. We made an agreement that I would regulate her medicine and keep it in a locked box. Unfortunately, she is hiding them from me now. When she takes them, she says she has taken Benedryl but I know it isn’t true.(it is really obvious when she takes them.)

I feel like she has been tearing our family apart ever since she started taking them. The day after she takes them(and she is normal) I usually break down in tears and tell her she scares me when she takes them. She then tells me she will have me regulate them or stop taking them but she never keeps her word and buys the pills. It is very stressful too because my sister and I have a busy life. My mom has to drive my sis to cheer, both of us to school, catechism class, me to my sports, to get project/lunch stuff, etc. Which means when she takes the pills, it messes up our schedule. Whats worse is that she thinks she is normal and tries to drive when she takes them. This is a very scary experience, as she pulls out in front of cars, almost crashes into poles, parks TERRIBLY, etc.

Today was also very scary. I get out of school at 1:50 pm and she never came to pick me up. I eventually called my grams and she picked me up at 3:00. (she lives 30 mins away) When we got home, she had thrashed the entire house. She threw her purse on the ground and dumped everything out. I went upstairs and she was asleep with her sunglasses on and had chocolate and cookie in her hair and covering her face. Her pills were on the counter spilling out, she took 1/4 of a bottle of aspirin, ate 3 java cookies(well 2 1/2, the other half was in her hair.) She scared me so bad…I thought she OD on them. I knew she had them because she had slurred speech, droopy eyes yesterday and dumped hot grease on the counter.

I am so scared for her and her safety. I am so scared to leave her alone and go to school because I think she might OD or do something dangerous and I won’t be there to help her. She is a single mom, so I don’t have my dad to help me(I haven’t talked to my dad due to his violent behaviors towards me, my sister, and my mom. I am 14 and a freshman. I am in an Honors core and I am trying to focus on my schoolwork but it’s so hard when you have to take care of a mom(who at this point, gets into as much trouble as a 2 year old) and a little sister. I have to clean, cook, do homework, help sis with homework, take care of my pets, etc.(basically everything my mom does normally) because she is always on these horrible pills. I feel like I have no one to turn to because I am the oldest. I pray all the time to God and ask him to give me someone that can help me and make me feel better when I am frustrated or sad due to these pills and to help me make it to College so I can get a good education and get away from the stress. I have also vowed to never do something like this to my kids when I have them(later of course.)

At this point I hate my mom for doing this and I am scared for her safety. I really don’t know what to do to stop her from taking these pills. I have done everything in my power to make her stop these pills but she won’t listen. We can’t afford rehab and I feel so tired of this. So basically, what should I do now? I have not told anyone that she takes the pills. She has told me not to tell anyone. Should I tell my Grandma anyways? I feel like she is the only one I can depend on now besides my sister. I really need help with my mom. Any advice would be helpful.

My mother’s dear friend Anne, who felt generally ill, had a persistent, dry cough. Her “coughing fits” often resembled chocking. Having underwent many medical procedures, doctors/specialists could never pin-point the cause of her ailments, nor her cough. My mother had read that such a cough was often a sign of cancer. Three years later, Anne was diagnosed with colon cancer, and succomb to the disease 2 yrs later. My mother is my best friend and soul mate, and I can’t imagine living without her. At 65, she has a lot more living to do, such as walking me down the aisle and holding her grandchild. Any and all suggestions are appreciated

I’m 17 years old and my girlfriend is 15. Her mom stays gone for weeks at a time and they live with her mother (my girlfriend’s grandmother). I don’t know if there’s anything she can do and I don’t know what to tell her. When the people in authority are the people you can’t trust, who can you turn to? I need practical advice but I do appreciate any help you can spare.

I’m so confused. My parents are getting a divorce. This is my last year in high school. My mother is moving into another house and wants my twin brother and i to move with her. Well all my stuff is already at my Dad’s. I love my Daddy but if I don’t go live with my Mom then she won’t get money for child support…and i worry that she won’t be able to make enough money on her own. Neither of them were college graduates. My parents told me that i have to choose. Dad…or Mom. I don’t want either of them to be all alone. My Dad drinks a lot but he told me that was going to change. My Mom is always out late but she told me that was going to change. I keep looking at the pros and cons. Things would be easier if I stayed with my Dad but I don’t want to leave my Mom out to dry… goodness i can’t see myself living without one of them. =( Any Advice welcome please.

constantly. I have been giving him water several times a day. But if I leave it out he won’t stop drinking it. My mom gave him a bath and when she placed him in the water he wouldn’t stop drinking it. I let him outside he did his business and then ater I brought him in he went again in 20 minutes. So now I cut him down to several drinks a day but not a whole bowl. He seems like he is more thirtly. I cut out his drinks after 10 and place him in his cage and let him out at 6 a.m. He holds all night. Anyone have had this problem and any suggestions welcomed. How much should he be drinking in a full day. He weighs about 20 pounds.

I have been with my fiance since July 2006 and we got engaged May 2008. I have 2 children from a previous marriage and he has one child from a previous relationship. All 3 children live with us and only my 2 see their dad on almost every other weekend. When I met Jimmy (fiance) he had 2 DWI on his record and was driving while revoked in 2006. While we dated and stayed over at each other house he wasn’t drinking very much. At least under my standards. However, now we all live together and he sometimes drinks 30 beers in one week sometimes more and less. This past week he bought 2 six packs and then bought a 12 pack Friday night and then another 6 pack Sunday for football. Now his whole family is Catholic and without a doubt his father is an alcoholic and so was his mom (who is passed away). He says he is just a binge drinker but I tell him no he has problems and needs help. The amount of drinking just seems extreme to me as I was not raised this way. He has NEVER been violent or agressive or mean in any way while drinking or not drinking. He is a great man and is so loving and kind to my children. He is always playing with the kids, riding bikes, hiking, burning fire wood in the yard, playing football, coaching soccer. I mean he is awesome as a father figure – with the exception of the amount of beer he drinks. We are having a talk tonight to see if we can make this relationship work. My only worry is drinking. I really don’t see him stop drinking but for those of you who do drink….how much during the week and weekend do you consume. What do you consider excessive? Does anyone have any advice?

i would like custody but my name isn’t on the birth certificate, although he is 100% mine, but we split when she was pregnant.last night she texted me and said she was seeing her ex boyfriend who she has a 6yr old daughter with.but he is on heroin and violent and im really worried about my son , he is 7 mths old and i have him at weekends.what can i do?
i pay her money every week and i buy him clothes.
